Playing Moltzen at fullback was a double-whammy backfire.
Firstly, was he was not mentally up to playing there last night and Prince exploited it well.
Secondly, by not playing Moltzen at half back, it created a major disruption to our attacking structure. Benji played way too much dummy half/tap-taker so Robbie could instead play a lot of the half-back role. This, as much as bad refereeing or any other factor in the game, created our lack of cohesion with the ball.
For goodness sake, show some confidence in Miller so if the kid must be picked to replace Moltzen at half-back, let him be a half-back!! At least then, our 6 & 9 can do the great job we rely on!!
At the end of the day, playing Moltzen at full back when he is clearly not up to it and giving Miller a token role only at half is not in the best interests of the team or those players. We all saw the ramifications last year when a similar thing was done with Lazarus…
