Another WT Statement!

I wouldn't get too worked up, they are doing their jobs, the bloke is contracted and they need to show support even if he doesn't seem capable of making a right move ATM. If fans feel they need to boo, then they, too, are doing their jobs!

I don't boo players myself (full disclosure: I occasionally audibly share my views on wife beaters, but not by booing). But I'm not sure what business it is of the club's to tell fans how they should and shouldn't react to a deeply disappointing set of events. I thought Cleary had this one right: fans will do what they do.

Personally I thought it would be good if the three departees were greeted with complete silence. As in: you're doing your job because you're a professional and no other reason, and I don't cheer or boo my plumber.

I also don't boo my own players but I do believe in free speech so whatever way others want to express how they are feeling is okay by me.

Now call me crazy but based on what I read this morning, Aaron and James saying that they have not yet signed anywhere else, I think the club may still be hoping that they will sign with us!
Or maybe that is just my love for the club talking.

TBH I wouldn't get your hopes up. Reading between the lines it looks like the Bulldogs - and maybe the Roosters too - are going to have to get their 2018 caps in order before registering contracts. But, really, does anyone have any doubt that they'll manage this, er, "one way or another"?

The only slight question mark for me is I wonder if the Dogs are getting a bit of buyer's remorse. It might just be media garbage but everything I read is saying they're NOT going to get rid of various players (other than those out of contract). I wonder if they're thinking they might have overbid on Woods and are wondering if they can sneak a do-over. But it would be maybe a 5% chance.

Also, frankly it doesn't matter either way what fans do. If the Dogs pull the pin on Woods I imagine the best offer he'll get will be from the Tigers and regardless I'm sure he'll sign the best deal he's offered whether or not some fans were pissed off with him. He'll just do an interview saying he never wanted to leave and his heart was always at the Tigers, he knows he's going to have to do a lot of work to win back the fans' trust and he's prepared to do it.

But yeah, don't hold your breath.

Next Statement please
We have secured the services of
?
?
?
These 3 players will joint us for the 2018 season and beyond
We still have A fair potion of our cap left and will be chasing more players over the next few weeks

Yes….no more statements justifying their stuff ups

^ yep if they said nothing the booing eould of been minimal. Now that the board has told us we cant show emotion and get up our own team its only going to make the situation worse.. I dont want Tedesco and Woods to backflip. We gave them a deadline last f iday. They ignored it. Thats it as far as im concerned.

As a wrestling fan, it reminds me of the WWE getting upset with fans for having a mind of their own and not cheering or booing who they want them too. Pathetic that they would get upset with the supporters. The ones who have been here longer than anyone involved in the club and will still be here long after everyone involved is gone. There's a famous line from the RATM song Killing In The Name Of which is my response to this arrogance.

There is something fishy behind this statement….one can only speculate....Go to town.... :sign:

Not a Woods back flip surely

If his backflip is as good as that missed high 5 in the state of Origin it should be hilarious to watch.

Not a fan of this statement, not a fan of booing either.

Yeah me either, on both counts. What I want to know is tho why did only Woods cop it? Tedesco is being just as much a jerk and has supposedly signed with the worst club possible, imo and Moses has been an even bigger jerk than both of them! Why are they being cheered on and accepted but not Woods? And please don't give me that it's because he's the captain bs - those other guys have just as high a profile, perhaps more so.

Tedesco copped it too.
Just not as loud.
And hasn't been as publicised.

The only excuse (and would be a valid one) for this statement is they think both player might do another backflip.

Otherwise It is a pathetic statement.

Christ what a saga.

Thats how I read it.

Something something i won't do what you tell me.

First thing I thought when I got the email (after I stopped laughing) was that there was a back flip on the way.
Actually, I'm still laughing about the suggested slogans for banners.
Who ever came up with "I CAN SEE CLEARY NOW THE VAIN HAVE GONE" is a deadset genius,
possibly a little bent, but a deadset genius.

They should be copping boos even if they come out and backflip. They've handled all of this like spoilt petulant little brats.

That was also a completely stupid statement. The club should have sent a statement stating while we can't condone violence we would love a massive crowd this weekend booing at the traitors within our team. In fact we will offer half price tickets for every fan who promises to jeer the vermin 3.

See you at the game !

So if the players have not burned the club and fans by dragging this on an leaving and the club feels it necessary to defend them, then the club must have done something to wrong to force the loyal servants out. If that is the case then Pascoe and Go should resign. Otherwise they should shut the hell up an realise that these fans (whether they boo or not) are the people that pay their salary and st the end of the day run the club.
