One thing i don't understand if we have used up cap how do we have room to re-sign kev, heleta, seve, Lamar?

which players was he referring to being paid overs for next year? I know Lawrence

The problem is he could be lying. Assuming that he isn't I think it must be Robbie and Woods who are significantly overpaid and possibly Lawrence.

I remember Mayer stating that Robbie and Woods were our two marquee players.

Both guys are really good players but I get the impression we need to pay them less.

Well that won't change, and shouldn't either in their cases, but the Club should learn from that.
The weird thing is though, is that we've had some very ordinary players through this club , so they should have had room in the cap for Some higher priced stars

If our cap is full it seems obvious to me that they are talking about their budget not so much the full cap.

No way in hell are we spending our full cap solely on players.

AS said earlier there is a lot of spin here.

You really have no clue. We are spending to the cap it's not a budget thing at all.

Ohh because you know.

You dont have one ounce of proof to back this up.

Whats more all youve got are personal attacks like calling me clueless.

Cant handle a strong opinion thats different to yours can you.

The rules by the NRL are clear to clubs on the topic that we need to spend at least very close to the cap in order to field a team in the comp. To field a team we need to spend close to the cap limit. There isn't a huge margin for not spending in the scheme of things which is why a few clubs get pinged each year.

We did pay overs for players and the backload issue is a large one. Next seasons projection is that on existing salaries and carry over rep bonuses from this season we will be at the cap.

From what I understand it will be interesting if we get fined at seasons end for cap issues, a lot will depending on rep payment calculations from last year and players incentive payments for this year mixed with partial payment carry overs.

We have been screwed the last 2 years & have 1 more year to go before we start to even try and turn it around.

I don't think we won't have any personal changes, I think that will happen however it won't be a top talent moving to the club unless we have a major deal on the side and he is willing to take a cut from what other clubs can offer with a minor split up front v later years but nothing like we have done previously.

Moving Chris and Keith is a solution however we will still be paying out a huge chunk of their salary, make no qualms Chris though is heavily back loading and will on record earn more than any other player next season in the club by a distance.

My understanding is there is over 115 NRL squad members available next year currently, with another 40 or so players from other codes/ESL showing interest. That doesn't count NYC or reserve grade decisions across the country.

This is direct from my involvement within the NRL currently make of it what you wish.

As i said earlier im happy to be corrected. Im understanding that previous management may have borrowed from tomorrow, still dont trust this management or believe they are telling me everything though. Call it a gut feeling but something isnt right.
