Sheens put his trust in Brooks to be a competent half and run the team.
When it became clear that Brooks was incompetent Sheens was too stubborn to admit it.
Season over.

It was like the reincarnation of Johnie Cronk,just as well the club had enough sense to punt Sheens after 1 year this time instead of letting Tim keep on trying to bang the square peg into the round hole for 3 years

Our coaches made a much publicised play for Munster, Moses, Pearce, Johnson, Williams and probably other quality halves. Ended up with a St.George (second last) back up and an untried teenager from Manly (failed to make finals)

Coaches mean jack shit at Wests Tigers because nobody of note wants to play under our piss weak protected species management.

I feel sorry for Api, he should just call a spade a spade. He was right when he laughed in the clubs face.

I have never excused our terrible management but expecting a stubborn coach who has never admitted to mistakes and is a decade out of touch (at least) with the modern game was never going to work.Back to back spoons with both Sheens and our admin to blame.They are all at fault

Haha i'm just not subjective with my opinions mate if he played good I'd say he played good & if he didn't i'd say he didn't. You must've missed the first 5-6 weeks of the season where I was bagging him for his rubbish performances but don't let that ruin your narrative

Yeh, that was a pretty low act the way posters bagged Brooks in the first few games of 23. He had not played or trained for more than 7 months, with no preseason. He also had to contend with conflicting instructions from 2 head coaches. Did I mention revolving spine partners? No surprise he told us FU. 😂

I agree with your post but not this point. Klemmer, Api, Bateman, Bula, Stef, IP etc. They've all signed. We can get players. We can't develop a good squad and we can't get the most out of the players that we get.

I'm not even going to blame Sheens but clearly the first grade coach and football manager is an issue when you come dead last 2 seasons in a row.

He had a couple of poor games when he wasn't fit. He was one of our best players when playing post those initial games but people like scapegoats.

Next year will be interesting. I reckon Brooks is heaps better than Hastings. We'll see how they go over the next couple of seasons.

I'm also completely cool with the halves we have next season. I see no reason why they can't be better than Brooks.
