Sure, but as I said in a previous post, contracts mean nothing.
The reality is we're a sinking ship as a club. I'm not sure any player would want to finish their career and go out like that.
Especially Api, who's had amazing success and won three rings.

And why would he want to go to Perth? He can finish in the bottom 4 here and not even have to move to the other side of the country.

Amazing how people just hear what they want to hear.Api is an exceptional old school talent, but he won't be with us next year. He's made it pretty clear he wants to finish his career at the Bears.

To be fair, he hasn't really moved the needle for us, and he'll be 33.
Adam's grovelling today has also shown he doesn't want a breach of contract because that would mean losing the rest of his pay for this season.
He'll be gone too.
Adam did not grovel today. This is far from over. More likely he is not here next year. This is a massive drama for the club despite Shaun saying the meeting was positive.
I happy to see api play for the rest of the year , but cut him lose for next year

I believe that both Perth and PNG will be successful. It's in the best interest of the NRL for their investment to pay dividends.
Time will tell, but that's my gut feeling.

Perth are on a hiding to nothing. They’ve been given no support by the NRL. They are basically the red headed step son to PNG’s golden child status.

Maybe, but I remember we initially said that about Melbourne when they first came into the comp - how can an NRL side succeed in an AFL crazy state?
Boy, were we wrong.
It’s a big investment, and I’m sure PVL will do anything he can to ensure it’s successful.

U never know , let’s hope the kids can this time stand up , I love watching API , but the years have caught up with him , AD will stay , unless we cut him lose

My comments have been controversial, however I feel that Adam will be gone at the end of the season, and Api will sign with Perth.
We are now on 573 points conceded and are on track to beat our previous record of 750 in 2024.

In reality, we need to nurture and establish a better nursery for our young and up and coming guns. If that means another few lean years, so be it.
Haywood looks raw, just like Makasini, but I’m happy to see them develop within our system rather than lose them to older players who aren’t making the cut.
Our Jersey Flegg team's playing brilliantly, so there's hope.

Mal is still trying to stitch together his team, but time is running out.
Api is the perfect conduit. He’s not that old that he’ll miss too many games due to injury, but he’s young enough to connect with the juniors coming through.
Perth will struggle with their junior pathways to start of with, so a smart, successful player like Api could make all the difference.
There have been a few posts lately about having a second team. After my parents moved from Glebe to Cammeray in the 90s, I’ve always had a soft spot for the Bears.
