I'm a keen but casual admirer of architecture and significant major projects as I'm sure some others here are too. Thought I might start a thread :smiley:

The modified DA for C4 at barangaroo was lodged yesterday.

check out the red lifts on the core. They are apparently transparent!



The height has dropped since the last design was proposed, but the curves look sweet.
Thoughts?

Not too bad, pretty standard - as it's the first to be built down there I thought they'd go for something a little bit more unique, but at least it's not a total eye saw!

I'm a keen observer of all things urban planning - infrastructure, transport, logistics etc. Having travelled to the USA quite a bit recently, seeing the way they plan their cities, they are streaks ahead of Sydney. Good to see the Government and Councils finally putting the city's waterfront resources to good use.

C3 and C5 should be lodged very soon. C5 was getting wind-tunnel tests last week.

Hahaha yeah it's a total shambles isn't it?! Lucky living in the inner west close to the city transport is at least half decent, but my dad lived up in the Hills district last year and transport to the city from there is a joke.

But even in this area, you look at all the money the Government spent on "improving" Victoria Rd through Drummoyne and you wonder which monkeys they put in charge of these projects and budgets.

There's a lot of cool apartment buildings going up down the end of Pyrmont. Close to the city and still has a village type atmosphere. Definitely wouldn't mind living down there

I've got a couple of mates with places in those buildings. The newer ones are nice inside but the facade's are terrible

Hopefully the Bangaroo buildings look good as I will have to look out on them every day at work! Been looking at the construction teams prepping the site for months now.

I love the facade. This pic is taken from the MacBank building and that area is currently dead. It will really turn that part of the city around.

I've got a meeting tomorrow to discuss the option of taking up one of the Retail Tenancies… If we decide to move forward, I'll be setting up a famil with some of our investors and Lend Lease early next year.
