Are the Saints gone ??

I won't write them off yet, they have a big chance to turn it around against the Storm next week, win that and their sweet. Lose it and they have a fortnight to pick it up again. That said there's a lot of 2009 about them where they bombed out of the semis badly.

i wouldnt rule them out yet but maybe they are a bit worn out. maybe the last month bennett has been making them train harder. it was like the end of 2009 when they just looked burnt out

Bennett said they turned a corner against the Tigers… Every week I hear they gona bounce back. What better chance than against a severely depleted Roosters mob. They're gone!

LOL, their fans must be also hating it that they lost to their three biggest rivals in consecutive weeks. If they lose to the Storm next week and the Warriors and Tigers both win they'll fall to 7th place. Then they face NZ the week after, so…

They've peaked far too early in the season. What worries me is this lull in form, if they string together one or two wins, they're on par for taking a bit of confidence into the finals.

There is a very real chance they finish 8th from this point. Storm and Warriors are both very tough games, especially for a team in a slump.

If they falter against an under strength Storm this week, They will well and truly have the shakes.

Lets lot forget that they admitted to a mountain of self doubt in the club after years of inability to deliver a premiership.

I don't reckon they are gone yet. I think they may bounce back against the Storm TBH.

Who knows with Bennett - the press conference yesterday could have been all smoke and mirrors from Wayne.

Write them off at your own peril, much like tip them for the title at your own peril….

ahhh bennett, the master coach ay.

will be intersting to see what he gets out of the dragons from here on end.

a coach can only do so much and cant do much if players arent performing.

You gotta wonder how such a disciplined and well drilled side, as the Dragons have been over the past 2 years, can just suddenly lose it and forget how to do the things they were doing that made them play so well. Or is it just that other teams have now worked out how to beat them? I don't think it's the latter, so it really comes down to their mentality at the moment. Wonder what's bugging them. Whatever it is, they will need to snap out of it real soon or else they can kiss the 2011 premiership goodbye!

I think this is exactly it to be honest.. they only know how to win one way. It's not working for them anymore and they have no plan b…. This is where sides like the Tigers excel and why I never count us out.. I saw dragons supports leaving when they were 8 down with 9mins to go!!!

Would you leave a tigers game at that point? No friggin way! I would still be confident of winning!

That's interesting, I find it amazing that a coach like Bennett would have no plan B! I'm sure he was more innovative than that during his Bronco years - must be getting a bit stale in his old age.

And no, Kaiser, I would definitely **not** leave a Tigers' game, 8 down with 9 mins to go - hell we could put on 3 tries in that time! :stuck_out_tongue:

Haha I don't think so, I think there are very few teams who can quickly adapt to a the pace of a game. Dragons and Manly have been found out each time this year when they aren't in control of possession and field position. Dragons are far worse, every time a team starts getting a roll on, they panic with silly rush plays, mistakes etc… it's like watching a team of robots. If something goes wrong they don't know how to do anything else

Souths as much as I hate them are one of these sides who can adapt imo

Also I think the people leaving is also a testament to the pathetic nature of their supporters haha

Yeah too true Flippedy We could probably find time to let the opposition score a try as well as score the three tries and give us another heart attack , 50 extra grey hairs
No wonder we love em
