Are the try lines east-west??

I am beginning to wonder. That was our most worrying performance of the season. The Chooks were there to get belted today and we somehow conspired to let them get up. A horrible loss coming into the bye week.

The amount of times Farah and Marshall were lobbing balls across the field hoping for something to happen was disturbing. On the same front a decent attacking kicking game and we would of comfortably got the points. The Chooks had to do a mountain of work yet we failed to straighten them up and test them up the middle with short inside balls or a ruck onslalught on a hot day.

Instead we hit our backrowers and centres standing still out wid, or Rob or Benji drifting aimlessley hoping to pick up a runner. This continued all afternoon and the end resultof these cross field playe was either a useless kick, handling error or simply running out of room and surrendering. The Chooks must of been laughing. You have to commit defenders to tackles, and they just had to stand off and watch us rift and drift anf drift at times. Todd Paytenwas the only one that looked dangerous because he ran straight with the ball in 2 hands.

It is the same problem as the previous 4 seasons. Benji and Rob are brilliant individuals players but when asked to control and organise a side we looked like a dogs breakfast. I put a huge amount of blame on the coach for his game plans and constant shuffling of positions. However players of their experience should be able to straighten up and stop going for the miricle option. We have a Cronk or even a Luke Walsh or Foran and i think we win easily today.

If the try lines were east-west today we would of run up a cricket score. Unfortunetly they are not and that was a sucidal loss at a bad time. No doubt another one of those games you look back at the end of the season and work out it costs you. If we don't make the finals in this 15 team comp we will be a laughing stock.

the problem is benji and farah run across field and no one is willing to hit a gap.

in 2005 we had 3 or 4 blokes running angles then hodgo wrapping around benji or prince, the defence had no idea what was going on. these days benji runs across field and blokes just stand there, the only one who hits a hole is ellis and 90% of the time he gets dummied to.

look at what the dragons are doing. they have hornby or soward going across field and creagh, scott, cooper or smith running lines with boyd wrapping around behind them. its no coincidence they have the best attack in the comp despite not having a tenth of the skill that we have.

yep we need more decoy runners and people running onto the ball BUT we also need a decent kicking game and Eddie is right - if we had someone like Luke Walsh (not even Cronk) we win by 20.

GOOD POST.DIFFERENCE IS STGEORGE IS STRUCTURED AND WE ARE CURRENTLY A TEAM THAT IS TOO AD LIB AT THE MOMENT WE ARE AN OFFENSIVE RABBLE.

Forwards are probably sick and tired of runing support angles and never seeing ball. They all worked their guts out yesterday while the big money duo may as well have been standing with their thumbs up their arses.

The forwards provided enough that we should have been attacking direct. When we did this we looked good.

i agree that our play makers let us down horrendously yesterday, however i do feel as though they dont have a lot of options sometimes.

last year after we lost to the panthers at leichhardt warren ryan said 'i have never seen a team with less WILLING runners then the wests tigers'

this is from a bloke who has watched and studied more football games then everyone who posts on here combined

I think our problem is simply that Benji has been poor the last couple of weeks and struggles to take control of the game and Robbie has been ordinary for a while.

The forwards went forward and our outside backs have enough ability. It is up to our play makers to start putting it together.

If you are expecting Benji to take CONTROL of the game, you will be waiting a long while. Benji does NOT have the ability to run the team, because he plays so much off the cuff. That is not to say he is not a very good player, but he needs someone else to do the organising. Unfortunately, of late, Robbie has not been playing well, so we have no structure in our sets. It is all off the cuff, hit and miss and there is no building of pressure, but it is score a try off every play.
With Prince and Hodgson in the side, we had two people, who could call the plays and control the game. I don't think we have anyone at the moment with the ability to keep the team playing to a plan.
