What a really stupid article, absolute knobhead. Getting really fed up reading absolute rubbish on facebook and this forum. I was pretty disappointed like most, pissed off a bit as well but I understand WHY it is happened and why its really no ones fault except maybe the raiders for their stupidly high offer.
"year in, year out they are absolutely hopeless"
we're in the 8 right now, were 2nd a few rounds ago before injuries. We made the top 4 in 2010 and 2011 and won the comp in 2005\. Not the most successful team in the comp, but we've had our fair share of success.
"The big, fat question in all of this is why couldn’t we offer Tedesco more money?"
BECAUSE HES NOT BLOODY WORTH 650-800 thousand dollars!
"Did the failed Rozelle shopping centre development have something to do with all of this?" taking the stupidity to a whole other level. we get 7 million from the NRL every year to cover our salary cap, NO CLUB is unable to fill up the salary cap. Our financial stability is absolutely irrelevant in this scenario.
"Are the facilities rubbish?"
yes they are, which youd know if youd listened to mayer in the slightest.
"the other really big question here is: which superstars are we paying at James Tedesco’s expense? Apart from our priceless captain Robbie Farah, prop Aaron Woods and superstar-in-the-making in young halfback Luke Brooks, who is there?"
dunno mate, maybe Nofoaluma, Simona, Moses, Lovett, Seve, Taupau, Nathan Brown, Fiagatusa, Sue, Sironen…
"Do other clubs structure superior third party deals?"
again, Mayer has said we struggle to get TPAs compared to clubs like the broncos and roosters. Listen up to what he has to say for once instead of s**t stirring.
"The James Tedesco departure is proof, like it was needed, that the Wests Tigers joint venture is an abject failure."
not even going to dignify this with a response. but perhaps the journo would be better off at another club
"Problem is, you don’t experience many peaks as a Tigers fan."
so thats the problem, having a bit of a sook cause we arent manly or melbourne. got it.
