One thing I've taken from this whole sorry affair, is that ASADA works with the urgency of a council worker.

As I understand it, the primary reason for their slowness is getting the legal stuff (i.e. their powers and ability to use evidence) sorted. That said, they don't exactly seem to be in a rush…

Would it be due to the World Cup and the possibility we could be banned by WADA if the NRL has knowingly picked two or more players that were taking banned substances

Could very well be the case. It would turn the World Cup (supposedly the pinnacle of our game internationally) into an absolute shambles if the Aussie team was disqualified and make Rugby League a laughing stock. It would be the only way the Poms would make it to the final though.
You wouldn't think ASADA would care less if it stuffed up the World Cup though, they have nothing to lose out of it.

When would be a GOOD time to open
The floodgates? I think the whole issue loses respectability the longer they 'wait for a good opportunity to strike'. If players or clubs have been involved in illegal activity then they should be confronted

If they have proof, present it. That's what the NRL said to them and I stand by it. Why do you need to conduct interviews and all this crap? How long would it take if someone in the olympics got done in for drugs? about 2 seconds to invalidate their previous efforts, medals and to then disqualify/ban them. This has taken about 8 months and a couple of nobodies have been caught.

I think it is fairly common knowledge that they have a significant amount of evidence, the delay is due to the fact that much of it cant be used or must be corroborated or something.

The delay is due to the World Cup. Once that is over things will start to happen. The NRL and clubs want it sorted asap so they know where they stand well before the start of next season.

Why would the World Cup delay anything? Its a small tournament being played in the UK. Few, if any, of the players charged will be in the Australian side.

they said they were gonna have it done before NRL season. then they waited for that to finish. and now RLWC. next thing you know they'll be waiting for 9s to finish…

I think a few of the ones under the most suspicion are actually in the Kangaroos
