I worry Doueihi is going to become another Mbye. Talented, but cannot nail down a position.

I wouldn’t lose sleep over it. He’s a quality fullback, just a whipping boy at the moment.

I’m wondering if he’s being instructed to stay in the line. Surely Madge would have picked up on it by now if he wasn’t

I reckon he is for sure.

Surely there's no doubt.

189cm and 94kgs

Similar build to Doueihi

Looks faster though

I think I'm faster than Doueihi ...

Maybe you and Hangonaminute could beat Ad at the moment
seeing he has an injured leg.

Maybe not when he is 100%

All jokes aside I actually really like AD and think he will be great for the club.. Something was not right v eels for him when he tried to make 2 tackles with his shoulders it just looked very odd.

One poor game and Doueihi is on the outer. He has been safe as houses at the back. There are some elements of his game that I am sure will be worked on such as passing and speed but he is somewhat elusive and I no longer cringe when a spiralling bomb goes up.

I think it’s cos Moses try wasn’t a good look for him. Though we’ve theorised that he’s being instructed to stay up, so that would be on Madge.

I think Doueihi will be fine as a long-term fullback, but the speed concerns can't be ignored at the moment. I've said it before in other threads, but if you compare him now to some of his Souths highlights, and it's clear he's not as quick and it's probably because of a niggling injury.

Teams will key in on this and test the lack of speed more defensively with short kicks through the line, particularly where he's coming up and defending in the line. They'll also handle our backline movements more easily knowing he's not a threat to break the line in attack and will slide with more freedom preventing overlaps and the inside defender will generally be able to take him rather than risk a quick player busting the line.

He has a bad knee, hurt it earlier in the year, has it strapped up and hasnt been the same speed since. He will make a quality fullback and has so far despite playing injured partly because we have no backup - Hoffman is the next back in, we are playing Lawrence in the centres. We should be praising Douehi for his committmement

How long before the "We should try him in the back row " suggestion...

Lump of a lad however

Good build for a modern winger if that’s where he gets played.

Yeah ideal...

LL, Asu & Tommy on one side sounds appealing to me. I guess he and TT could interchange between CNTR/WING until one stamps their mark

give Brooks or whoever plays down that left side some much needed artillery as well.

Looks a right centre with Talau at left centre.

We already have a right Centre.
And I thought Talau played right in Canterbury cup last year.

I’m impressed with this signing. Actually looks a decent build for a back. A long way from the Deloise Hoeter, Nathan Milone and Watson Heletas that graced our top squad years back...

long term for sure. I'd still like to see him and TT play alongside each other for a spell before that happened. Push each other along until Joey & Mbye no longer grace us with their presence

Yes good points. I like the idea of greater competition for spots with the knowledge that JL does not have mortgage on the right centre position. If you watch the clips he's a right side player.
