Attacking Bombs

Would it be too much to ask that someone actually contests an attacking bomb this week? I don't think I've seen one of our players get anywhere near the ball or the opposition player catching it to put some pressure on. Compare that to our guys who always seem under all sorts and invariably drop it when put under any pressure. And it's not like all our bombs have been bad kicks - our guys get to the general vicinity of where the ball is going to land and then just wait until the other team catches it.

Yeh I noticed that trend too…need to contest instead of watching the other person catch it and put him in touch.

If your saw the way Canberra handled bombs against Broncos the more pressure the better They were not good at all Milne in particular

i agree.

another thing that has room for improvemnt, is the ball chase but i did notice that on Saturday night they did alot better than last year.

Yoss couldnt agree more. We are the worst team in the comp when it comes to bombs. Personally I dont like the prevalence of bombs in the game (its a cheap way to get tries) but until rules are introduced to reduce their effectiveness, then we should be using it.

We really havent used bombs effectively since Prince left.

Agree, we are not good on the attacking bomb….. Try to think of who if any of our players are good leapers, cant come up with anyone
we need a Lachie coote or Izzy Falou, they should be easy to get

How bout getting Mackinnon to follow through He's handy under high ball

How about we just get someone who can put a decent BOMB UP….

We have trouble defusing bombs in defense so what makes people think they can catch them for tries? God I'd loved to be proved wrong

I think you're missing the point slightly. At least in defence they are contesting the ball. Sure they drop most of them but they have a crack. On attacking bombs guys charge through and then stop and watch the other player catch the ball. I'm just asking them to do something - jump in the air right next to him, put your arms up, try to deflect it back. The way things are done now is a waste of time - they might as well gently kick it to them.
