**AUCKLAND NINES MAJOR RULES**
- Two nine minute halves with a two minute half time period.
- Nine players a side with six unlimited interchange players.
- Scrums will only form after a double knock on, with attacking teams to elect which side to feed the ball.
- No video referee, with one on-field referee.
- Five minute golden try period in qualifying rounds with a draw to be deemed if there is no result, while unlimited golden try for the finals.
- A tap restart will take place after a 40/20
- Five points for a try scored in the bonus zone under the posts, with two point drop kick conversion attempts.
- The scoring team will have a drop kick off to restart play.
- Five minute sin bins.
- Five tackles in a set.

I'm interested to see how Freddy will go at 42\. Nine minute halves so he might be up for it.

Gotta wonder how long… if at all hes been preparing for this?
I've said for months that the whole thing is a joke - a bit of pre-season hit and giggle which no serious NRL contender is going to let its important players get anywhere near, or at least not take any risk in. Now Fittler's coming back for it I think I have my confirmation. In fact, I've made a little ranking of the least important sporting events:
1) Beach soccer.
2) Mixed doubles tennis.
3) Nine-a-side rugby league.
4) The current SCG test.
5) Golf.

Get off Freddies back!
I think the young fella will give a good showing at 41 years of age. In fact, since I read about it I've been trying to get a hold of Mick Potter.
I've been sweating myself to death (been 40 or there about for near on 2 weeks up here) so I think at 58 years, near enough 59, I would love to try the Auckland weather.
Don't laugh, I was a dasher at touch footy over a dozen years ago.
I reckon though, if both Freddie and I are put on team lists then the NRL Integrity Commission will step in and stop us. B*stards.
