Austin v Brooks

Well I didn't compare Moses and Austin as there's too bigger difference in experience. Moses in his first full season, Austin in like his 5th season.

Moses had 12 try assists and 3 tries. He did have a very slow start to the season too but as a kid it just took him time to find his feet.

It is hard to compare players as teams have different tactics, and players different roles within teams too. Once we started playing Taylorball the stats for our guys would have dropped considerably. Also you can't compare kicking metres as when you're told to kick a bomb you're not going to get as many metres as kicking it to the corner.

But considering how many people wanted to lay the boot into Brooks it seemed pertinent to remind them how well he still did overall, despite having a number of quiet performances. He compares quite favourably against a number of players deemed to have had good seasons and with better structures and players around him he too will only get better.

5th full season? He's played about 60 games. He's played 2 full seasons. Injuries affected him before that.

Whats wrong with having kept Austin for a couple of years while Moses develops in reserve grade.

NRL clubs shouldn't put young guys in first grade 2yrs before their ready ev7if Bobs his uncle.

Right now he wouldn't make firsts with anyone else period.

Well considering he debuted in 2011, he's been in and around the first grade squad for 5 season now…

Lol, some people can't remove their agendas from their own backsides long enough to think objectively. You're stuck in first half of the season mode, and if you can't realise that he was in our top 3 players for the entire second half of the season maybe you should start following the Giants as you're likely to never be happy supporting the Tigers.

But he hasn't had 5 full seasons though. Whether he's been apart of first grade squads or not. He doesn't 5 yrs experience of week to week grind like you were trying to say he had.

Austin is a brilliant individual player who can at times win you games, sometimes though it doesnt work as we have seen….

Moses will be a team leader in the not to distant future,he can create opportunities for the TEAM and still come up with some individual brilliance that benefits the team and not just himself....

Cmon, you know what i mean. He's had 5 years in a full time environment acclimatising to playing NRL and has been able to learn and adapt his game both on the pitch and at training. Moses only broke into first grade at the end of last season and has had much less exposure to NRL standards. Brooks has had more exposure so expectations should be slightly higher for him.

Soliola got Raiders BAF last night. - Missing last 5 weeks and all….

Seems we rate Austin more than they do

Personally I think Austin is a guy you like to have in your team if you can afford to carry him. You don't need him, he is not going to be the cornerstone of a great side.

I think Moses can be the cornerstone of a good team, time will tell; I'm prepared to call it on Austin sooner than on Moses. Austin is a great accessory, like a fancy sportscar, but don't expect that to make a difference if you are stuck in peak hour traffic.

I don't know if that analogy works well, but I'm leaving it.

I think what BB was trying to point out is he has been in the top flight environment for the last 5yrs. Regardless of the daily grind and injuries the training, attention, coaching etc is very different is where BB was heading compared to someone playing in NYC, Matts and Ball.

Could be wrong.
