Mate you don't know what's planned starting tomorrow according to some

The Three Days of Darkness is an eschatological prophecy of future events, held by some to be true. The prophecy foretells three days and nights of "an intense darkness"[1] over the whole earth, against which the only light will come from blessed beeswax candles, and during which "all the enemies of the Church ... will perish.

It's said to start 27 January 2024
lol is that Greenwich mean time or what ? Does daylights savings affect it ? People do realise the earth rotates right , and every 12 hours we are exposed to the sun , and if it stops rotating then we are all dead ? Or if it did stop rotating and somehow we weren’t dead (hypothetical) that half the earth would be exposed to the sun ? lol

Haha, I also apologised for upsetting anyone
in the last paragraph. I think it is generational
TBH. Older timers care more about it than the
younger demographic. Will take a generation
or 3 for them to wean out & 2 decouple from
the old way of thinking. Australia is very different
now to what it was 50, let alone 300+ years ago.
God I hope not ! Whilst I think as boomers age , they will take the grumpy old man stereotype to the next level , they are the last link to the golden generation . And that generation was as hard as granite .

I'd be there protecting our borders against
a hostile/invading army 4 sure. But I won't
be going overseas on foreign land to fight &
2 keep the war machine turning or to keep the Western, anglo-judaic monopoly going
Interesting, but perhaps confused and not well thought through reasoning?🤔
Should we:
- not help our neighbours when they are attacked by gangs, bullies as they are "not attacked on my peoperty"?
- not help the Allies in the WW2, at least in the Pacific Theater?
- not help our neighbour countries e.g. Taiwan, South Pacific Islands (Fiji, PNG, East Timor et al), Indonesia, Singapore, Malasia, Thailand, Vietnam, S Korea, Japan etc. when attacked by foreign countries?

What chance would Australia have if the rest of the world play 🙈🙉🙊 when our teritory/shipping/air routes/corridors are attacked e.g. by China?

That they were mate. All rocks, no diamonds lol.
Just kidding. Not good to generalise as I have -
within reason/within context it's OK. People on
here think I already hate white people, last thing
I need is to get the old folks offside as well lol

Yep, China wouldnt invade Australia, they would blockade freight and starve us,

Don't want 2 make more work 4 mods. They've
just deleted a stack of posts mate. I digress...

Will be good 2 celebrate Australia day when we
become a Republic & stop our bloody dependence
on America & Europe. Would be nice to think
autonomously for once & not be dragged into
geopolitical wars that have nothing 2 do with
us - we're too far, & unique as a nation to keep
fighting wars that aren't ours. Pisses me off smh
Will never happen.
We are geographically important and hold similar values.

Ur dreaming, u think us becoming a republic we will not get dragged into wars . So we say no to the USA or The BRITISH, then a couple of years down the track the Chinese attack us and we ask them to help us , the answer would be f***** off , then we end up speaking Chinese, u really need to think before writing crap 💩
Yep.
Make no mistake, the Chinese would over run us very quickly.
Our ability to perform militia resistance has been diminished to the extreme.

How old are you out of interest?
You don’t have to be exact.

I can never remember which age group I'm in... It didn't exist when I was a kid. B boomer... Just scraped in.
Days nearly over we can forget all this soon... Until late Jan next year
I noticed they had British buses and a couple from China among the historic buses doing the opera house/harbor bridge/north Sydney loop today. Poor old Albion green and brown double decker that we were in didn't make it, blew a gasket up the hill in nth SYD... They're about 80 years old she got back to the quay but had to be towed home.... She was a baby boomer too 🤣

You'd think ancestors of early settlers who got
pulled away from Great Britain, landed here as
convicts & helped set up the penal colony here -
in service of the King George III - would be aggrieved
with anything to do with the monarchy & Oz day - yet they do the opposite, they suck
on mother England's teet lmao. Most boomers
are the biggest whingers & complain when other
people want to change the status quo, or when
it's time for collective change. So drunk off power
and perpetually stuck in the 'days of old' that
they betray their own sensibility & civility. Such
a spoilt, coddled generation of know-it-alls and
entitled prats. I find it embarrassing when
some posters write "this immigrant guy i met"
or "I spoke to this indigenous guy and they're
so greatful and love Australia and nothing is
wrong with the date", yadda yadda. They love a
token black or ethnic to reinforce their own belief systems, it's like those losers that say they
don't hate gays or black people because they
have 1 gay or black friend. It's so sad. Another
sad thing is people saying we could have been
speaking Dutch, French or Indonesian if Cook
hadn't discovered Australia & everyone else should
somehow feel eternally greatful for his landing in Botany Bay. Piss off. It's the same thing
Zionist settlers say when they take Palestinian
homes, "if it's not me, somebody else will do it",
sorry that doesn't wash, nor does it erase the
atrocities committed and are still felt to this day.
Oh, you know ethnics that migrated here, worked
hard and paid taxes all their lives & that love 2
celebrate Australian day? Good 4 you! They were
not even allowed to date white woman 50 odd
years ago, how privileged they are to celebrate
a day that's celebrated by people who don't even
view them as 'real Australians'. For every black,
and immigrant that love the country & feel like
they belong there are 100's behind them that
feel the opposite way. If we are all going to come
together & truly feel Australian we're going to
have to hear each other out and not just feed
into things that confirm our conscious bias.
Do what you want to do, celebrate how and with
who you want to, but don't act dumb and pretend
you don't understand why everyone else doesn't
share the same enthusiasm as others do on this
date. I went out earlier, drove around and it's DEAD
no special events, parks are pretty quite and
local councils have stopped doing citizenship
ceremonies. Look around, not everyone gives
a shit or feels connected to the date/Australia
day, most people just care about the day off
work. Anyway, yarn over. I know I'm going to get
quoted 100 times for speaking my peice but
I've got time today. Apologies 2 boomers I upset/
or may have disrespected in my monologue lol
I loved reading that, because I generally agree with the sentiment. I'd be a bit careful generalising about generations etc, just stick with describing beliefs and behaviour no matter the person's identity etc.

Doubt it, those with the wrong position rarely change their mind, its too rusted on.

@upthetigers
@Odessa

I'm sick of the absolute shit that gets posted in here. The virtue signalling is sickening from the bleeding heart liberals. I'm a qualified psychologist, sponsored the Tiger's in the 90s, ran a pretty big practice in Sydney and the Newcastle area, I have family members that are doctors, solicitors, school teachers and politicians. but apparently I'm a defenceless peon suffering some perpetual victimhood because I have dark skin. I have 2 brothers that were part of the 'stolen' generation, mum and dad took them in in the 60s, not a day goes past Richie and Phil do not express how thankful they were to have been given a better start in life. 2 of their biological brothers did not get out and stayed with their mother, both died in the 70s from alcohol poisoning. Cats out of the bag now, only a very few close mates on this forum knew I'm Aboriginal. Having this avatar throws a lot of people out. It catches them all the time assuming I'm a stereotyped 80 year old racist white guy.....just because conservatism is the obvious correct side of politics.
Thank you for sharing.

Yep, China wouldnt invade Australia, they would blockade freight and starve us,
China historically isn't expansionist.

Any invasion attempt hypothetically by China would entail them creating massive bases on the approaches to Australia taking years........it's a fantasy, will never happen.

A distant blockade of Australia by China wouldn't be logistically possible either. Sure they could harras and sink some trade but that would affect our remaining trading partners....more than us.

I know you mean starve euphemistically in an economic sense however this country could really go downhill quickly in the event that the US compels Australia to cut all trade with China and her allies in a sanctions related event, creating a situation where prices for goods and material we sell collapsed.......because the market is constrained.

This type of event will ruin Australia.

Great post Winston.
An interesting side note, maybe even more so for one in your field.
Today at our Australia day bbq, we had some of our son's ( 25 yr old ) mates join us.
Amongst beers, lamb and discussions . . when I mentioned the "stolen generation" and the intentions of the "system" at the time . . in the light of the abuse and associated problems from alcohol, etc . . . they all looked at me like I was from another planet. They were all totally unaware of any of the reasons many of them kids were removed from their family. They all thought . . . again, 25 year olds . . that the government just rode into the settlements and rounded up the kids.
When I told them it's basically no different to Child Protection Services that exist today, they were all stunned. Their schooling had forgotten to mention the reasoning behind the stolen generation, and how it was deemed in the best interests of the kids. By the norms of society at the time.
To be fair, everybody seems to gloss over it. Might not be the stuff folks are proud of, but it happened.
We are pounded by what happened in other issues, but this is Mr Sheened away. History is history. The good, the bad and the ugly. Unless of course for the woke.

Doubt it, those with the wrong position rarely change their mind, its too rusted on.
You left out the bit about the systematic removal of indigenous children that looked a little bit white (many the result of rape) to avoid a half caste race being created. Also I have read of girls being taken before they were old enough to be raped by white men for the same reason. I would accept some were taken with good intentions but before going nuts about what I have said here do some thorough research on what you are talking about.

Yep, China wouldnt invade Australia, they would blockade freight and starve us,
Dunno, we have space, food, water (artesian basin) iron ore, oil reserves, rare earth minerals and small population concentrated in a handful of coastal locations. If they didn’t invade it would because they didn’t have to.
