How did Keefy and Rowdy play ??

The side looked to gain a lot more stability when Scott and Gallen were put on into the front row. Keith didn't do anything special, but he didn't let anyone done either.
Lawrence looked good on the edges, he busted the line on a few occasions and was unlucky not to have been amongst the scorers. The ball went down the left side to Inglis quite a lot so his opportunities were limited. He went off at one stage and returned with a bandage around his head, only then to be taken off for the final 10-15 minutes.

Keithy's highlight was pushing a loose offloaded ball back to the Aussies, which led to a try out wide.

Rowdy's become a tackling machine!

I thought Thurston or Smith or even Lee Briers (who gave his all) should of got MOM, not Boyd. 😱pen_mouth:

Why is Beau Scott even selected for rep footy, useless! (IMO, of course) :unamused:

Rowdy hasn't exactly sparkled this series, however he certainly doesn't look out of his league - He fits that team like a glove.

I don't think the whole team has sparkled this series…they seem to be playing just well enough to jag the win. From the games I've seen Rowdy has stepped up the International level...fits the team well....Galloway, whilst hasn't done anything wrong...hasn't left a mark as of yet...

His problem is he just doesn't seem to get enough quality ball. For some reason the Aussie's always seem to attack down the opposite side of the field. It's been happening all series. Don't know if it's a QLD thing or not, maybe their used to spreading the ball wide to Tonga and Inglis. Don't know, maybe I'm wrong.
As you said Underdog, he hasn't looked out of his league and his defense has be solid all series.

Sorry bout the incorrect info, I ended up recording a replay of NZ-Eng
Were ppl watching torrents?
Bloody chanel 9….Im sure I read before the 4N theyd be broadcasting all Aus games.

That's exactly why CH 9 should not get the broadcasting rights. They only show games if it suits them, stuff the footy fans.

Craig Kopzcak was bloody strong again… snapped some of those kiwi forwards last week and more than held his own against the aussies this morning.

The way I see this is that the main men in the Kangaroos, Smith, JT, Locky and Slater, dont really know Rowdy as of yet. He hasnt played SOO against them, and hasnt really played too many games in the preceeding two premiership seasons. Those boys have well entrenched and proven plays that revolve around their QLD team mates and as of right now they will stick to them.

As Rowdy becomes more experienced and gains greater exposure at the top levels, he will become a 'go to' man as well. He hasnt let anyone down in this series and I'm positive it has made him a better player for the experience gained.

However, if your name is Thurston or Lockyer, and you hit the ball running in a scoring zone, you instinctively look for either G.I or Slater as you know 100% they can get the job done. I can see next years series having switch plays to get Lawry's hands on the ball more often.

Australia was only in second gear for the majority of this game… They were a little shocked at the tactics applied by Wales #6, but once they gained momentum, it all came together.

Good on Wales for having a go. There was alot of no-names out there tonight who would surely of got noticed, mixed with some hard-heads from the ESL. While it wasnt a spectacul, I enjoyed watching Wales have a go.

A bit hard to guage how both Keith and Chris went considering there wasnt much structure from Australia. Next week we will see the real Australian Kangaroo's run out and they will go from the opening whistle!!!

Aussies by 16

I know what your saying Stryker and agree that Thurston and Lockyer would instinctively go for Inglis and co. , but as for Chris needing more exposure, I'm sure that they are aware of what he is capable of already.
Hopefully your right in saying that next year ( once he has cemented his spot in the test team as I'm sure he will )they will have more plays to get Chris involved as well as Chris feeling more confident of being part of the team.

Interesting how Sheens really seemed to get the best out of Smith and Cronk in particular - showing their versatility and skill.

I do like how his coaching style hasn't changed all that much coming to the national side.
