I'm an unabashed fan of the guy, and wanted to give him some recognition for his game tonight. If League Live stats are to be believed, he had 144 metres off 14 hit ups to go with 40 tackles and the only genuine line break in our team.
Sure he had that horrible drop, but he made metres after contact every carry and had a quick play the ball more often than not.

He's copped a lot of flak from some but I think he showed what he's capable of given an opportunity.

Yeah he was great tonight agreed , really made an impact and perhaps if Galloway goes he could get more minutes

nrlstats has him down for 93 meters and 37 tackles, but either way I think he was our best forward out there tonight. Besides his line break, he fell on his hands in the tackle and got some very quick play the balls.

I was expecting more of these kinds of games from him but he has disappointed this year so far. He has barely been getting 15mins per game from Taylor. I can't understand why when we have such a rubbish bench and rotation compared to other teams.

Great game from Ava, close to best on ground. Taylor's use of the bench is woeful. I understand woods is our best forward but playing him for 60 minutes a game and Ava for <30 is detrimental to the team. Sue and Ava both outperformed any game Galloway has had this year.

On a side note, I'd love to see Funaki come in for Buchanan in games like this, great aggression and decent speed.

I'm a massive fan but he has had a poor season so far. Great to see him put in a big effort.

If he plays like that consistently he is our 2nd best prop.

if he plays like that every game I would be happy to keep him but after 15 rounds a game like that doesn't impress me especially when he is off contract. His dad was also in the crowd so he had something to prove. I hope he always plays like that.

Anyone know how many minutes he played? Felt like he had a long stint through the middle and it looked like it too, but while he didn't take many hit ups he didn't make any defensive errors either.

If JT cuts Taupau's minutes back and implements a forward rotation of sorts rather than a straight platoon swap then I think we would see consistently better performances.

Im not a fan, but tonight he was terrific.
Best game I've seen him play.

Same, just need him to be consistent. Well done Ava for his effort on the weekend though.
