Not bad for his first game back. Missed 3 kicks and Lazzo kicked in the second half but a solid return after a month away

Any improvement shown from Tame? And how did David Fifita handle himself throughout all the niggle and spite?

Matt Ryan came away with a hamstring complaint so he may not be available for next week.

He also came away with a few gold coins from his nanna who has him on a performance based contract!!

Tame did ok. Limited game time.

Dave Fifita didn't get a run which was probably because of the atmosphere on field.

We commented at the game that if Fifita and Latu were on the field with the Schirnack brothers someone was leaving in a Bears body bag.

I'm glad that wasn't the case and we were only an ear lobe down

A one eyed Bears supporter's view of that game….not even a mention of Jason's ear biting

**Bears Fight Back Too Late For Win**

A second half fight back from the North Sydney Bears was not enough stop a defeat at the hands of the Balmain Tigers 42-16 in a highly physical match on Sunday at North Sydney Oval.

An ever changing Bears line up due to an ever increasing injury toll, withstood a six try onslaught in the first half, but switched to another gear to win the second half 16-12.

Souths centre Jamie Simpson was first to score for the Bears at the 47th minute. The Bears forward pack forced the error on the Tigers and Jamie was ‘Johnny on the spot’ grabbing the loose ball and running the length of the field to score. Jarryd Hogan converted.

The second Bears try went to hard working lock forward Dean Webster who strolled over from close range after good work by his team to get to an attacking position.

The third try to Norths and the final try of the match was a great individual effort from forward Zeb Tawha. Finding a break in the Tigers line he also kicked his own goal.

Despite the recent spate of losses a positive has been the chance for some of the young up and comers to perform at the NSW Cup level. Nashaat Zreika coming via the Bears SG Ball ranks and North Sydney/Berowra junior Jack Hawkins have both got game time in the past two matches.

BALMAIN RYDE-EASTWOOD 42 (8 tries, 5 goals) defeated NORTH SYDNEY 16 (Jamie Simpson, Dean Webster, Zeb Tawha tries, Jarryd Hogan, Zeb Tawha goals) Halftime 30-0 Balmain Ryde-Eastwood.

Woo hoo, Norths won the second half, just remember that these players who run out for 'Norths' are actually the South Sydney reserve grade/NSW Cup side under the guise of the Bears, is there a video match review comittee?.
