The Tigers having fallen asleep again in the second half and 2 good tries to Wests by the winger Gus Aiga and then by Nu
BRET 24 - 10

With 6 minutes to go Wests get rewarded for their had efforts with a very good try by winger Rhys Pritchard and converted
BRET 24-22

Wow, listened to the second half on 2HHH-FM, the Tigers just held on but the old cliche, Rugby League was a winner, they are saying it was a pretty decent crowd too, congratulations to both sides, Tim Sheens take note here please.

BRE gets the win 24-22.Big comeback by Wests in the second half, almost got there. What might have been.

Just returned from the spiritual home of rugby league, what a excellent game and in the end the magpies were probably a little unlucky but being a Tigers man I will take the win.

Meaney looked like he suffered a broken wrist and Moors was brillant in the second half. As for the tigers, Ryan was the standout. Big Topou played only a few minutes and looked all at sea playing in the forwards. All and all a good quality game.

You just have to love these clashes , such passion by both sides….Wests played fantastic in the second half , coming off their line with great speed. And in the end they were very unlucky not to sneak away with a win , as they were nearly over in the corner , but knock on.
Moors was a class above, and I am looking forward for the replay to count the amount of offloads he did at will.

Balmain were dead on their feet in the last 15 minutes , and you have to wonder what Coach Fletcher was thinking only using 8 interchangers when he has such a good big bench. The Magpies though can take a lot away from this game , and Balmain wil have to work very hard during the week if they are going to be a chance against Canterbury at Crest next week

I listened to the feed, and it sounded like Junior Moors had a blinder?

Yeah he did, running hard ond offloading at will almost
Will be interesting to watch that final try on replay this week…some of the crowd closer to it were very unkind to the ref as we were leaving

Spewing… I will be in Hospital on Wednesday and they dont have Fox...

They charge $5k a day and dont have Fox???... What a Rip-Off!!!

I'm baffled at why Moors is playing today and not monday. His second half was great and he could've single handedly got the maggies home today. Good effort. Balmain have got to learn to play for longer. It's a bad habit.

It is a cardinal sin that Junior Moors won't be playing on Monday night, he was unstoppable in the second half and must have gone awfully close to getting away 10 offloads as well as scoring a try and proving a real handful everytime he touched the ball.

A real of two halves today as Balmain were very strong in the first half while Wests made plenty of mistakes and really didn't look like scoring. Totally different in the second half though as the Magpies dominated possession and field positions and really came home strongly. They almost had the game won right on fulltime when a crossfield kick from Waters was ruled to be a knockon as Nu Akeripa touched down in the corner. Wests had enough ball in the second half to win, but Waters was very slow to get rid of the ball and plenty of backline players never eventuated or broke down because of slow service.

Best for Balmain were Gower, Ryan and Curran. Lazarus and Nicholls were busy and Tupou was disappointing today, still plenty to learn for the big fella as far as playing in the engine room is concerned. As for Wests, well Moors was a mile in front and I hope Sheens took note, I really don't know how Skando got the nod over him. Josh Davis had some powerful runs, Nu Akeripa had a couple of good moments and after a disappointing first half, Rhys Pritchard was dangerous in the second half.

Glad to get the win. Not happy with the second half performance. Neither was the coach I think it is a safe bet.

Both sides missed opportunities and both will be licking their wounds after some big injuries.

Keppa was on crutches and Meaney suffered a dislocation with scans to come. Really missed Al Schirnack today as he would have allowed better consistancy. Toupou was terrible today. The reason the interchanges were so low is because Toupou offered so little and was woeful in defence and with Meaney coming off one of the 4 interchange players were taken up with a back.

Jason Schirnack is still working his way back from his long lay off. Gower & Farlow played the 80.

For Wests Davis was the real inspiration that got Wests going in the second half. Akeripa & Pritchard were also very good. They did look far more dangerous with Falcone running at half than Waters today but Waters appears to be carrying an injury.

Davis V Mat Ryan was a good battle and I think Lazarus did very well against Moors and is becoming more confident to get the body into the defence.

Moors proved that Sheens is a moron today. He was the entire reason for the Magpies surge. If Skandalis played today and Moors on Monday night Balmain would have run away with it IMO. Moors offers so much in the way of footwork and offload wide of the ruck that it was something special to watch.

I think you guys r even still not talking up how good the"unit" went today, he was easily the best player on field of both sides. Right in front of coach sheens in the second half, hope he was watching, he kicked asssssssssssss…..........
WAy better than golden boy gower in fact at several times he walked over him............ the aka also cleaned up gower and chopped him in half!
I dont no how you guys can say gower was one of the best, were we at the same game???????
And when the pressure was on lazarus crumbled, and that my friend is why he is not in firsts..
If we were not so shocking in handling in the first half
Unit = Moors, will be in first next week HE HAS TO BE!!!!!!!
Pritchard was very damaging all day, just a little small for firsts.
Go the Pies, great second half great line speed, great defense and should have won....

3 times now they "should have won"

Everyone is entitled to their opinion though Rich

Gower was the reason Balmain led 24 nil…..

Moors was on a mission....seemed he had a point to prove....

Magpies ran straight through bals all day 15-20 metres at atime. Where were the big balmain/ryde/eastwood/penrith forwards then???????
