Banning of Broomstick putters

There is a lot of talk about banning broomstick putters in 2016 from all PGA events

If the PGA thinks that the putters have had that much affect on the game , why don't they get rid of all the new drivers with huge sweet spots as well

When you hear someone like Jack Nicklaus saying that he was 5 years ago with a crook back and hip hitting the ball as far as he did in his prime you have to ask some questions

I splashed out about 10 years ago and got a King Cobra 375 series driver and could not believe how much further I could drive the ball with added accuracy

As far as I can see it is a confidence thing with the broomstick putter ,this crap about because of the weight it creates the perfect pendulum motion :blah

Wondering what any golf fans think Keep the broomsticks I say

Doesn't really worry me. I haven't seen Peter Senior putt his way to victory in any of the majors so they can't have that much of an effect on the game. It's not as if they calculate the line for you.

Everyone uses the 460cc divers. Not everyone uses the same putter. You can't stop andvances in technology in sport (except cliff diving).

Somewhat silly in my opinion… It mainly gives you more control and I dont see a major problem with that.

One of my mates has started using the Belly Putter and is having great results.

Weighted Drivers; Hybrid Clubs; and the new Putters are just part of technology moving the sport forward!

I'd still like to see a limit on the drivers in size etc

You'd hate to see a course like Augusta ,turned into a chipping range in 20 years time because it can't be lengthened anymore

I have a Broomstick Putter but i dont use it, i use an Odyssey 2 ball Putter which i think is great, but i would not ban the Broomstick Putter & the reason is i think you are either a good Putter or your not.

Yeah,i'm a keen Golfer and they've been talking about setting a max. length for a golf club for 30 years,ie the putter won't be able to be any longer than the driver, but the R&A & USGA can't agree but if the USPGA Tour take a stand it will flow back into the amateur game.
