In this thread we share & discuss slick tips for life situations.
The following is some of my own realizations from my own personal experiences I'd like to share.
Some of you may share the same opinions and some may not, all depending on your own life experiences.

Feel free to share some of your own.

- If you're going to be involved in a physical altercation and there is no way to avoid it, always swing first. It takes one punch to kill some one, so protect yourself at all times.

- Always wear a suit to job interviews. It'll increase your chances of getting the job & make you look more respectable.

- Look after your personal hygiene. If you're a single man looking for love, this will help you & if you're already in a relationship it will keep your partner happy. Start at the bottom (cut your toe tails) 'till you're at the top (look after your hair, mouth - clean your teeth, chew gum/tic tacs, shave, etc)

- Get things done. If you have things you need to do, don't put it off. Get it done immediately, then you can move on. Say what is on your mind, tell people how you feel and regret nothing.

- Compliment more people. Tell some one you like their shoes, etc. You'll usually get a smile out of the person. I'm constantly telling people I like their watch/shoes/dress/etc and it gets a conversation started. "Oh yeah, I got it @ such and such…."

Smile at all women

Never trust another drivers blinker

Never leave a shout before your go

Dont back odds on nor run up stairs.

Dont wear thongs with jeans

Mine are pretty basic one used to be my signature

1 Don't let fear hold you back
Use the fear to drive you to success I don't know if anyone knows where I got this phrase from but it was Gus Gould He mentions it in his autobiography when he told Mark Geyer he was dropped from the NSW squad for showing up late to origin training Geyer supposedly threatened Gus and that was Gus's comeback

2 Treat your worst enemy the same way you would treat your best friend Don't sink to their level

3 Control your world Don't let the world control you Be an individual Be yourself If people don't like it to bad
4 Always look forward Never look back The only things you can control are things that are going to happen and what are currently happening Don't let life slide by You only get one go (Depending on what you believe in )

Dont use hair product if your a bloke…you will lose brownie points with girls who have decent Iq's and will have your arse kicked by men who have self respect.

A World War II and Vietnam Vet told me this on Christmas day last year.
He said "Whats Every day?", "I dunno?", "Every days a good day" and it really got me thinking. If a bloke who has fought in two wars and seen horriffic things i couldnt even imagine and still think every day is a gift, it really makes the "problems" that I think i have in my life seem insignificant. Someone always has it worse than you think you do.

My Dad told me this when I was younger, at the time it was about doing the right and wrong thing but i think it applies to several situations in life. He said "He who hesitates is lost." Meaning if you have to stop and hesitate to think about your actions, you probably shouldn't be doing it.

1\. If you are a leader of people, dont sit back and point. Take the journey with your people and lead the way forward.

2\. Dont look for handouts or a free ride in life. You reap what you sow and should enjoy the fruit of your labour.

3\. Life is all about learning and most humans only use 10% of thier brains functionality at any one time. Take 5 minutes each day to review what you learnt on this day, much like checking your pulse to see if you are alive.

Totally agree with No 1 Watto "Do as I do ,not as I say" Thats why I think Robbie is a good leader Leads the tackle count most weeks and does the dirty stuff as well That is what makes a good leader

Tell the people you love that you love them. Every day. Whenever you think it, say it, and mean it.

Tell people who have inspired you or made a difference to your life. It's amazing how good that can make you both feel.

Start each day with a clean slate - so don't hold onto grudges. Negative energy will just hang on and multiply. If every day is a new day, then opens up all kinds of possibilities.

1\. treat people the way you want to be treated

2\. the harder you work the more you will succeed in life

3\. youcontrol your own destiny/life, make the most of it

4\. if its not on….its not on!

Cherish every second with your kids. I get frustrated with my little fella sometimes then I hear tragic stories on the news of young ones taken too early. Makes my problems seem insignificant.

Yesterday's history
Tomorrow's a mystery
Today is the present - a gift.

Live everyday as if it's your last, because one day it will be.

Oh and my cat has one also - "Don't crap where you eat!" Good advice there

"Consider this….there is a moment in the future when each of us will cease to exist in this mortal coil so it's pointless and meaningless to waste precious time with spite, animosity and hate. Use your time to try and make the planet a nicer place. It's irrelevant ultimately where we are from, what is relevant is we all share in humanity. The world is already full of too much hate without adding to it."

I'm not sure who said it but its something I decided to follow.

Brett Stewart could use this advice

When I get the chance, I play with my 4 year old son. He loves games like snakes and ladders at the moment. But he gets really down if he starts losing. I try to tell him that you play the game to have fun, not to win or lose.

It is a bit like rugby league. We need to remember to enjoy the game. If we are only happy when we win, we'll only enjoy about half of the games. If we are only happy when we win a premiership, we will be miserable an awful lot of the time.

So while some may look at 2011 as a disappointment, just remember back to those magic moments during the season, and enjoy!
