Any petrol heads out there ?
The great race is just over a week away . Who is your favourite team / driver ?
Are you a traditional Ford or Holden fan ? Or do you support the newcomers in Nissan / Mercedes or Volvo ?
For me this will be my 22nd consecutive year at Mt- Panorama . It's a great weekend of camping , drinking and catching up with old mates .
Thoughts ??

I've never been to Bathurst On the bucket list along with the Birdsville Races

I've never owned a Holden but I'm a Holden fan and Peter Perfect was the man

Now I guess I'm a Lowndes fan

Preferred the old times , the 80's were the best races in my opinion

Seeing Dickie Johnson bawling his eyes out after having the rock thrown at him was pure mana for Happy

The rock wasn't big enough if you ask me

I agree happy the 80's were a great time with great rivalries !
Legends like Brock & Grice in the commodores , Richards in the BMW , Johnson in the Falcon / Mustang . Then came the almost unstoppable era of the Turbo Nissans & Ford sierras … Even with the cars of today all being the same it's still an awesome spectacle and an appreciation of speed and talent watching the V8's live at Bathurst !

Make sure you do cross it off your bucket list !!

Loosely follow the V8's. Bright was always my favourite driver however I've always loved AMG's so when Mercedes came in I jumped on board. Things should look up next year with factory support.

Holden for me..Broock was king….I like Garth Tander as well

Peter Brock
Parry Perkins
Craig Lowndes

Holden Racing Team

Best win , Peter Brock by 2 laps I think

Best racing is in the wet

I've been every year since 2001, unable to go this year due to work. Holden boy through and through! I've met some interesting characters camping on the mountain, although it's pretty tame now compared to what it used to be.

**Kevin Bartlett** - favourite driver ( I worked as pit crew in 1985, on a privately backed Mitsubishi Starion Turbo, he and Bob Riley had prepared for Graham Moore ).
KB, I cannot speak highly enough if him. Once you got to know him, he would make sure you were being looked after, even when helping another team. Always stopped and had a chat, even if very quick, when he was due to qualify. If you had any issues at all, a " quiet word " from KB "sorted " it out.
Whatever team he would be with, he would make sure, you would meet the team boss, and recommend you to help that team if required.

Volvo is a massive chance this Bathurst, I wonder how that will sit with some enthusiasts..

Even bigger chance to take poll position.

Yeah a lot of safety cars will do that . Typical council workers can't even lay down bitchumen properly …

I used to watch the big race religiously. Not anymore. I find it quite boring with 90% of the field being holdens.

That and those bloody safety cars drive me nuts. A driver is 20 seconds in front and because some nuffie goes off the track, the race basically restarts. For the life of me I don't know why the leader can't be given 20 seconds head start. They do it with for cyclists.

Devistated for Reynolds/Canto… In good position to win and a small part fails in the car and game over.

I too felt sorry for Reynolds & Canto today .. They were a class act the minute they rolled of the truck .
Fantastic win to Chaz Mostert and Ford Performance Racing !
And a big lol to Whincup .. What a Massive choke (literally ).

Was a bit of a Bradbury finish

Even still you've got to be in it to win it !

I Can't stand red bull or Whincup or Roland Dane .
It's about time things didn't go their way !
Great finish IMO !

Was a pretty exiting and eventful race. The winner only led the final lap with everyone who was looking like winning running into some bad luck. It's the race for all motor heads, but there'll be some annoyed and frustrated drivers tonight.
