BEAU for FULLBACK

…After today's performance... and last weeks...
Iam starting to be really convinced that Beau Ryan should be our permanant fullback...
...he is safe under the high ball... as we all saw today... and runs the ball back well...

...thoughts ? ...

Has done nothing wrong at the back. He actually came up with a try-saver when double movement was called. Keep him there I say.

He's certainly the best we've had by quite some distance there since Hodgo left.
I thought he was rubbish for most of last year at wing & solid at best since then at wing.
At fullback he's a completely different player and actually gives the side a better balance.
Good on him!

Beau Ryan for Prime Minister I reckon !
I reckon his very best spot is right centre, but anywhere in the side 1-13 will do me.

i think the guys great and he is very good under the ball abd running back, but come on guys he's a much better winger. that attempted tackle on jarod crocker? and most of his other tackles were less than impressive…but so was most of the side so im sure he will improve.

would have preferred beau running the wing instead of brown, he's so slow lol

Pfft Mitch Brown is quicker than Ryan, I'd put bank on it. He was actually starting to get away from that defender when he passed inside to Moltzen. Mitch Brown looks pretty fast tbh.

Beau is playing out of his skin, and he has to, each week that goes by is a week closer to Tuiaki coming back and Beau might be in trouble :frowning:

No way in the world is Brown faster than Ryan…
... Brown did have a pretty good game against raiders...
I hope he stays & ryan stays at FB ...

he seems more natural n confident at the back
havent been too impressed with him up untill last weel
which completely changed my mind

He's going very well, hopefully he can keep it up. He's playing for a position in the side and seems to be doing a good job.

He organises our defence a million times better than Moltzen… he's a very good fb imo

Good point. He's a natural talker, which Moltzen is not, & the rest of the team respond to him.

I've never understood the criticism of Beau Ryan…Apart from the cowboys game where he didn't put his body on line,he's been great. He's looking good at fullback and no doubt will get better in the future chiming in an attacking raid.Seemed him being slow is a bit myth, quick enough for his try.Loving his kick returns...gets his head through the line with his leg drive, enabling a quick PTB.Seems the opp have troubles dominating him the tackle..rubbery/wormy..if that makes sense.Doubt even from the wing anyone could criticize his dummy half scoots.Hope he gets a long decent chance at FB to establish himself there.

Agree. His positioning on kick returns is also far superior to Moltzen. He's made about 450 metres in attack from the last 2 weeks, he has to stay at fullback with those sort of metre gains.

I've been surprised with the transition he's made so far. He looks comfortable, he's doing the little things right. Definitely looks better there than Moltzen. He may well have now forced Sheens's hand when Tuiaki returns. Lui now may find it hard to get back in. The balance of the teams appears better with Moltzen at 7 and Ryan at 1.

… I hope thats the case ...
