Beau Knows what is going on

Yep that^ pretty much sums it up.

It's ok to have an opinion but it's another to influence things that you're not meant based on your opinion.

Robbie has maintained that mick has full support of the players FOR THIS YEAR. BecuAse that's how long he's contracted for. Robbie speaks on behalf of the players and that's it.

How many times have I and others posted that Farah can clear this whole thing up with a clear direct statement. He does not have to defend past actions. He does not have to implicate the board. All he has to do is say "I back coach Potter and will work with him to lead the Tigers." Job Done!

Rubbish. That's not the role of the captain. Farah doesn't choose the coach and he shouldn't be expected to derail the leadership of the club.

Once Farah says what you are asking him to say, it would then be expected that all leadership decisions are endorsed or rejected by him.

The board / CEO needs to be able to make decisions is we want to succeed.

You basically want him to be chairman.

I agree that the people on the board need to change. However, without an effective decision making body there is no future.

Fair enough Mccarry and well said.
My post was about Farah defending his personal position where he is perceived as the bad guy. It was not meant as an endorsement, or job reference for the coach.

Sorry Mccarry, I had to cut that short. However I can see how one could be interpreted as the other and by your interpretation I would not want that. I also understand the views expressed by pHyR3 where as a player it isn't his role. All that considered, I think the CEO or the board should have done more to defend Farah.

watch the first 2:40 of this interview and connect the dots. Also keep in mind that Gus has spoken to Potter and would have a fair indication of what is going on

I really don't think anyone knows what is going on, I find it hard to believe things are as bad as they are with players resigning

Its the biggest media beat up if all time and it has got every jumping up and down like the sky is falling in.

The board has every right to re-sign or sack Potter if they see fit.

Its no conspiracy.

Somehow Robbie has got dragged into it…

Thanks Tony,
I agree that Gus probably has a fair idea what's going on. He may even know who the trouble makers are. Implies that it predates Farah's involvement and points to the board.

That is what i also took out of it. I also relate it to Gus's commentary during the game last Sunday and he says something along the lines of "There is someone at the tigers who wants mick's job and is trying to get it". That in itself makes me think that Brian Smith isn't so innocent either. Sections of the board don't want Potter there and Brian Smith wants his job. Interesting.

Our new board needs to be put in place ASAP before the current board messes the club up even more.

Yes Simon, the board has the right to determine who the coach is, regardless as to how open or otherwise the process is. That doesn't make it right for the team.
I have just heard an expert opinion that the Tigers do not look like a team that needs a new coach. Hmmm, as a supporter of this club this makes me question the motives of those on the board who would chose to exercise their 'rights' to change coaches. No doubt the process will be as open as what we've seen to date and for all I know somebody's loser mate will be the next Tigers coach. No thanks. Just because they have the right, doesn't make it right.

I think it would be quite unprofessional of Mick if he has given Gus a lot of info , especially seeing that Gus is involved with a club we could of (at that time we had no idea of the Tigers v Dragons game ) potentially played in the semis

Would of been lovely first week of the semis and the Tigers played Penrith (8th-5th) and all these stories had come out in regards to issues at the Tigers

Gould would probably be getting far more info via Robbie talking to Beau in my opinion

But it was well known at the time that the board was split between Potter ,Kevie Walters and Parish when Potter was appointed

As I said in another thread I think at the end of the season we need to make some key changes apart from the board

We are pretty close to the mark on field , a few key appointments in particular positions will be crucial

People need to understand we have a limited window for a premiership

I'd say four years max

Unless the club can attract some TPA's there is no way we will keep Brooks ,Moses ,Tedesco ,Woods ,Farah ,Austin , Nofoaluma ,Blair , Simona ,Sironen Taupau,Sue ,Gallaway under the cap

Some clubs will do what happened with Tedesco and offer Marquee money to non marquee players and they would be mad to stay

I agree re the 'limited window' Happy, a good reason to go for stability. Whatever, the mess needs to be sorted sooner than later and unfortunately now, sorted in a way that is acknowledged publicly.

i think 2017 could be our year ! we should make the 8 next year and go a little further in 2016 but i fully expect us to be favourites for the title in 2017\. Of course that is unless the injury gods continue to target us which would mean anything can happen and we could finish with the wooden spoon in each of those seasons. However assuming all things are equal i think we can definitely win it in 2017\. From then on, most of our players will be off- contract and one of two things can happen: they could all be happy with what they've achieved and chase the big bucks or make a pact to take pay cuts in search of more on field glory with their mates. I'm hoping that by then our off field performance will be mirroring our on-field success as a result with a new board hopefully overseeing increased membership numbers, new sponsorship deals and the attraction of third party bidders. All we need is one new major sponsor and then i'm sure Harry could be used as a third party contributor to keep players like Teddy, Brooks and Moses. Farah would also be retiring in 2017 and that would free up close to a million dollars which could also be used to tie up some of our stars.

The problem as someone raised is we are going to make a final series or two to set up a Premiership win

2014 would have been a perfect learning experience early in their careers

I just don't want one premiership and then wait another 10-15 years for the next

We should be doing everything in our powers to build a dynasty( like the Melbourne's ,Manly etc) and we need that to start now

We should be setting up plans to resign everyone now and have fool proof plans in place not wait until 2016 or 2017

This is what annoys me most , everyone at the top seems to throw common sense out the window to have their own agendas and moral one ups over others

**This is what annoys me most , everyone at the top seems to throw common sense out the window to have their own agendas and moral one ups over others**

Hopefully that will all change with the appointment of the new board at the end of this year and common sense will prevail. From there i can see 15' 16' being the stepping stones for a premiership assault in 2017\. But i agree we need our management to act professionally and efficiently to lock up our future stars early and quickly. With that being done i can see the development of a dynasty just like we have seen at Manly. I reckon we just need to sign a new major sponsor for 2016 to relieve meriton of their sponsorship duties and allow Harry to fund us through third party agreements. I don't think keeping most of the nucleus of this side (sirro, moses, teddy, brooks, nofo, woods, simona) is going to be a problem as they've shown previously that money isn't their sole priority. I think if we can be successful on the field and get ourselves in a position where we can at least offer a competitive deal then most of them will be happy to stay and build a dynasty with their mates. We're not going to keep them all of course but heres hoping the ones we lose can be replaced (ala manly and cherry-evans replacing hodkinson)

These posts remind me of how often I read the word 'hopefully' on this forum. I'd rather read confidently.

all we can do is hope, at least until common sense prevails. When that happens then we can go from hope to confidence

How many more times do you want Farah to state that he has no issue with Potter before you believe him?

No Tony33 It is not enough in my book. If Farah truly believes he is the one being hung out to dry he has to be direct. 'OUR' full support deflects and generalises his intent. He needs to say 'MY' full support.
"Full support of the playing group" does not explicitly include him. If he is the one being pilloried he needs to be inclusive in his language. He needs to say "Mick Potter has my support as team captain and the full support of the playing group". Anything else is politicspeak that he can later distance himself from. The longer this goes on, the less I'm inclined to believe that Potter has his support.

Is Farah not a member of the Wests Tigers playing group then?
