Beau Ryan has been called in to the Prime Minister's XIII to play Papua New Guinea in Port Moresby on Sunday 23 September. He will join Chris Lawrence and Aaron Woods who were named in the original squad yesterday.

Congrats to him…..surprising imo, stunned actually.

Sydney Roosters prop Martin Kennedy will make his representative debut for the PM's XIII later this month after a number of injury-enforced changes.
>
Gold Coast's Jamal Idris (hip) and William Zillman (shoulder) and Brisbane quartet Ben Hannant (wrist), Matt Gillett (shoulder), Peter Wallace (shoulder) and Corey Parker (knee/shoulder) have all been ruled out of the September 23 clash in Port Moresby.
>
Penrith's Michael Jennings moves from the wing into Idris' centre spot, with Wests Tigers' Beau Ryan coming onto the flank.
>
Parramatta's Tim Mannah fills Hannant's frontrow spot from the bench and Ben Te'o replaces his Broncos teammate Gillett in the backrow, while Cronulla's Wade Graham comes in for Parker.
>
St George Illawarra's Dan Hunt, Sydney Roosters' Martin Kennedy, Parramatta's Matthew Ryan and Cronulla's Nathan Stapleton join the extended bench.
>
In addition Cronulla's Paul Gallen, Titans' Greg Bird and Nate Myles, Penrith's Luke Lewis and Wests Tigers' Robbie Farah have been named in Australia's train-on squad for the end of season Test against New Zealand.
>
Prime Minister's XIII: Darius Boyd, Akuila Uate, Michael Jennings, Chris Lawrence, Beau Ryan, Lachlan Coote, Scott Prince (capt), Aaron Woods, Andrew McCullough, Tim Mannah, Ben Te'o, Feleti Mateo, Wade Graham. Interchange: Dan Hunt, Martin Kennedy, Josh McGuire, Matthew Ryan, Nathan Stapleton.

Guess all that door frame tapping, logo kissing, head rubbing finally paid off?

Or maybe he just had a really good year on the field.

Why doesn't Rowdy take the whole off season off for Christ sake to get himself 100% for 2013

Its a nothing game to be honest

Congrats Beau , no doubt his selection is a PR exercise as the PNG ers are Footy Show crazy

Well done Beau this is something we all would love to do, represent AUSTRALIA. I'd be proud to represent the green and gold in marbles. Now you have it, nobody can ever take it away from you.

There has been some condescending remarks not just in here but all over today about this news.

The bloke deserves to play 10 times more than rowdy yet he is copping it from everywhere. He had a good year, showed some great skill and courage and this is his reward for a job well done. Same goes for Woods.

Totally agree beau has got this position deservedly well done beau. I think his great footy show work has overshadowed his work this year and he was underrated because people
Le look for the easy hit

Well said Stryker. Funny the same forum voted him the forum's player of the year however play down his Australian selection.

No I've knocked the way the team played in another thread in regards to this and that it doesn't say much for our team if a winger wins player of the year

I think there are better wingers that could of been chosen and question the motives of his selection especially when was told by someone who has lived in PNG that the Footy Show rates almost as highly as SOO does in PNG

I don't trust the NRL officialdom as far as I could throw them

Beau and Rowdy aren't representing Australia , they are playing for the PM's 13 and it won't be recognized as an actual or official Test
