Beau makes PM XIII

Congrat's to Beau and Chris … But I've got to say this is a strange collection.
Nathan Stapleton - seriously ? The poor fella had a shocker on the left wing for the Sharks last weekend ... Wouldn't be in the competitions top 50 outside backs ... Good luck to him though - but strange nonetheless.

Guess Robbie crueled his chances with that "noose" quip ... And how about the secret rangas pact ... Where's big Keithy ?

Congtratultions Beau. He goes well on the wing and had he played there all season he would have looked even better.

Well done Beau, you've been in some good form over the last couple of years and considering how many positions you were forced to cover this year and yet still maintained form is a credit to you. Wish more of the team had your enthusiasm and heart.

Seems a few aren't happy with what I remarked upon above

Firstly if we wish to treat International Rugby league with the respect it certainly deserves , I think the full strength Australian side should play the PNGians

They are rugby league mad are very rarely get to see the players they idolize and worship

We may also get a better chance to judge whether they are capable of having a team in the NRL in the future

Secondly , the last thing Rowdy needs is another game of rugby league Give him a full off season to get back to his best

I think if fans in general (Wests Tigers or not ) would much rather seeing Rowdy at 100% in 2013 than him playing a game which probably means little to the players

Thirdly This is NOT a Test match so the jersey that they recieve might be in our colours but is no way an Australian jersey and will not be recognized as a Test match in any way ,shape or form

Lastly Beau has had a good season ,don't get me wrong but the fact he won the WTF player of the year says more about the rest of the squad than it does Beau

Beau probably deserves his selection but the fact he is a Footy Show member I believe has had some sway in the decision to name him

Good luck to all the boys playing , and please ,please , please don't get hurt 😛ray:

"Tim?"
"Its Brian, yeh….Sanchows gone down again.....are you near a burger king by any chance?"

Agree with most of that. I gather the reason for it not being a test is twofold:

- PNG are fielding a home-based team so they might not want this to be considered a test without their best players?

- The timing works out. Any later and it is probably too far into the off season and the weather is probably even more wet and humid. As the date stands you couldn't include players from teams still in the finals. And if you need to exclude players you can't call it a test.

The game is important for the PNGRL though. As they seem to finally have some decent governance up there, maybe they can get around to building a stadium befitting the status of the game up there. As you say, some actual tests would be nice too.

To be honest, I don't think either Lawrence or Beau deserve their spots. Good luck to the both of them though.

Imagine how good Beau would have gone if our backline had fired.

He looked good this year despite our team, not because of them.
