Beau Ryan after round 8

As for the future of up and comers I personally believe that the NYC competition has created a void for several years of players who seem to be stuck in the ether as they were too old for NYC and not ready for NRL during this time. I take far more issue with players just above flegg age taking up a plethora of top squad slots just to keep them at the club and hope they develop. But that is an entirely different coversation

Don't get me started on that one. It's a big can of worms. Something needs to be done about it.

Lote is over the hill. I would have stuck with Ryan, a young gun on the way up

Let's try this again…

So not wasting the money spent on a player is more important than winning a premiership??

😕 spending 200 odd thousand on someone to play a couple games then move him to state cup because he doesnt perform would just be something completely stupid. its obvious the club wouldnt invest so much in someone if they didnt know and monitor that he had a decent performance on the field.

Completely stupid? And do you think Ryan O'Hara was on peanuts?

Beau Ryan deserves to be in the team. His improvement towards the end of last year was impressive. Even at full strength i would at least find a spot for him on the bench. He can play centre as well, and is as acomplished as ayshford and moltzen. I was at bluetongue on saturday night and the jury is still out on moltz, not only as a halfback or a fullback but as a better prospect than Ayshford and Ryan. Some on here build him up to be a superstar. I like him, but i am still unconvinced about him… Hope i am wrong

What do you mean? The only person who is ruining Moltzen's game is Sheens himself. How can anyone gauge Moltzen's performance on one trial match when he is an established half who has been converted to fullback. Mind you, Moltzen has pretty much trained the entire offseason at fullback then was thrown in back at halfback due to Marshall's injury. You need to take ALL the facts into consideration.
No need to hope…because you are..

ryan o hara never put bums on seats nor did he get as much publicity as tuqiri has gotten for the tiges

Please…....just keep reading this quote of what you wrote earlier and realise the irony here...

if we moved every player who doesnt perform on the back of one season im sure we would of seen benji playing for BRET more than once in his career

as for the moltzen fullback/halfback dilemma here is my theory which ive stated before

with moltzen at fullback our kick returns, last line of defense and ball movements will all be great

with moltzen at halfback it leaves the fullback spot up for grabs for players like brown and mullaney
brown doesnt perform well at fullback and from what i saw on saturday mullaney still has alot of work to do till he is first grade ready. so for the sake of pairing a prefered halves combo it will mean that we greatly weaken our fullback spot.

So are you promoting favouritism and corruption within the club on selections instead of basing them on a player's onfield performance? Does this mean the size of a player's paypacket warrants an automatic walk-up start over a player who is paid less?
And suggestions for dropping a player for consistent poor form is "completely stupid"?
Is that you Tim??

  Well ….......that would explain a hell of a lot in regard to Fitzhenry's 119 game career..........

Corruption CT??

Favouritism may be levelled at any coach at certain times but corruption implies something completely different and, IMHO, completely false

This is a really really good point and something i had never really thought of before. Very well said. It makes Lui's selection as half back much more valid when put like this.

After the weekend I am open to Lui playing half.

As for Beau Ryan - he should not lose his spot. He is getting better and better each week and I like watching him play.

He has an uncanny ability to beat the first tackle every time.

Looks like CT was right in regards to different rules for mods and mere mortals. Before you dish it out take a look at your own posts, your doing exactly the same thing.

Some of you should know better. Lift you game, trials are over, the season begins in a fortnight!

Huh?

Re Beau…...i too am flummoxed at his ability to brush defenders off.

He is not the biggest guy,but man he can swat peeps away at will.
