BEAU RYAN ITCHING TO RETURN TO TRAINING
By Wayne Cousins

If Beau Ryan could start official pre-season training for 2012 tomorrow, he would.
The right winger's desire is not only driven by the heart-breaking semi-final loss to the Warriors just over a week ago but also his friendship for his team-mates.
Ryan is as close to his team-mates as any of the men are who represented the Wests Tigers this season. The players may be on their end of season break but whether it be training or playing, Ryan just wants to return to Camp Concord and that team environment.
“Every time we play, I just pinch myself. To be a part of this team is a great feeling. Benji and Robbie are going to be legends, especially Benji,’’ Ryan said.
“To even catch some of Benji’s passes or kicks to score tries are things I probably take for granted now but I know when the time comes for me to be sitting back with my kids at home watching old team videos, that’s probably when I will realise how lucky I actually was to be doing what I do right now.
“You can’t put it into words the feeling you have until you actually run out in front of 20,000 people at Leichhardt or Campbelltown or 50,000 at ANZ and you win a preliminary final game with guys who are pretty much your best mates now
“It is hard to explain the feeling when you score a try and Blake Ayshford or Benji come running in and you hug each other like you are just married.
“That’s why I was so disappointed with how things ended up for us and why I’m disappointed that I won’t be able to train with the boys for the next 7 weeks. You miss things like that.
“I’m already starting to look back to how much I miss training. I think you just take it for granted during the season when you train each day.
“Don’t get me wrong, I do need some time off as my body is sore and my head has had way too much footy but at the same time, I just want to start training tomorrow.”
