Beau Ryan & Pace in the backs.

Some people have no idea.

Beau is an excellent finisher. Sure he's not the best rounded winger, but his selection week in week out does not bother me at all.

What I mean is, he is capable. I'm not denying he has bombed tries, I'm not stupid. Many players have though. The amount of abuse he is getting is ridiculous and it's all due to the fact that he is a 'TV celeb'.

See, very capable. He DOES have that talent. His form towards the end of the season wasn't been the best, but I don't mind him in the team at all. Of course, I would pick TNT over him.

TNT, Brown, Latu, Savou all have more talent and would be better options for mine. Doesn't maen Beau shouldn't be in the top squad as depth and a player who can cover multiple backline slots is useful

That's a much better post, and yes you're right he's not a complete no-hoper. He does have talent but at the moment he's the weakest link in the team. Some of the tries he missed in the finals particularly were poor.

I do agree the level of vitriol that goes his way is a bit over-the-top. He hasn't been that bad. However you couldn't see him keeping a spot ahead of TNT if he was fit or even Mitch Brown if McKinnon played FB. Even guys like Finau are going to be moving ahead of him in the pecking order soon the way things are going.

FWIW I like his TV spots.

Woudl Beau Ryan have scored either of Nightingales tries tonight? OR would he of taken the bomb for the Roosters first try?

Thats exactly right, Beau is a decent player but the bottom line is that he is not the best possible option and its silly that he'd get the job when hes not the best man for it. I personally would not have Beau in the starting team next year, but I think if not for injuries then Sheens will not drop him.

Beau Ryan can be quick on some days. As many of us quote his a 'hot and cold player'.

For pace I think he does have some as it was evident in the second Panthers in 2007 he out sprinted Michael Jennings.

His a photo.

Hope everyone remembers?

Last try shown, He did give jennings a start, but did hold him off well.

more impressive was Lawrences 97 metre effort!

He didn't outsprint Jennings. Beau had a head start and Jennings was catching up.

Its not just pace once ur set free. How often did Brown, Ayshford, Ryan get set free this year into legitimate space? I reckon you could count them all on one hand combined. Its also about pace with the ball. Look last week at Nightingale, Gasnier, morris getting into dummy half and taking great dummy half scoots. The roosters also did it to us three weeks ago and it was honestly one of the big differences in the two sides in both games, gianing 10-15 metres a hitup. Meanwhile beau ryan gets in there and makes less than 5 metres most of the time etc

not "clearly" as you say - don't forget the on-line footage is grainy.

 No diff to the quality of video they get at the grounds.

@ The person who said Beau doesn't make many metres out of dummy half - it's probably been the best part of his game this season. Against the Dragons it obviously wasn't, he was shocking there. Don't judge him on that one game. His scoots from dummy half have generally been good, especially early in the season when he was playing fullback.

I never said he did. WSTigers did.

I said he held Jennings off well after giving him a bit of a start. If that had been Luke Covell, Jennings would have got him 10 metres out, and Covell would have knocked the ball on in the tackle…. Beau knows Tryscoring.
