Beau Ryan

Yep Beau was brilliant at fullback when he cost us the game against the Roosters.

Very ordinary footballer. Only positive is that he is better than Fitzy.

I agree but one thing in his favour is his yardage think he averaged 170 metres a game at fullback when he was there And the Roosters game should of been a penalty im my opinion

Reckon Princey will give Beau and Matt Utai a real work out as there attack seems to lack punch and this will be there last option

Disagree.
He won't do a damn thing and will be as terrible as always.

So you don't think Prince will pepper Tigers with bombs Demps once he has run out of options with running game . well he going to do something I guess we will wait and see

Regardless of how you rate beau (either good or bad) the one thong u gotta love about him is the way he pumps the boys up during the game. He brings alot of enthusiasm and passion to the team and that makes up for what he lacks in height or strength!! Theirs worse things we could do then give him a go for a week or 2 while we get through our injuries!!

Alot of us bloggers were quick to right of utai and look how good he's been for us!! Beau must just prove alot of us doubters wrong also!!

Well why dont we give a singlet and call him "Laurie Nichols" Seriously though, Beau if fit being a senior player may be the best option. But if there is any doubt then Sheens & co should do the right thing by the juniors & the club and give one of the younger guys a run. Everyone is always discussing how much talent we have coming through the ranks but in the same breath mentioning they' rather have a player with 1st grade experience, whether its discussing potential signings or injury. The only way a bloke gets 1st grade experience is by getting a run. And this is the time of season to give them a crack in my opinion.

It's quite funny reading about a lot of people bagging Ryan before he's played a game in 2011, particularly, when some of the same people abused Sheens for playing Utai in first grade before he had a game.

It's also amusing how people bring up the game where he dropped the bomb against the Roosters, but forget to mention the game against the Raiders last year where he won the game single handedly for the tigers.

Just like Utai, I'm going to wait until Ryan has played a few games before I decide he doesn't deserve to be in the team.

**Well Said!** The Utai experience has made me believe we should give these guys a chance before we get too critical.

The only thing surer than Beau copping a hammering from his detractors is that if he doesn't play and his replacement makes one slight error that the Beau Ryan ankle grabbing fan club will hammer them mercilessly. Let us hope neither groups get reason for any raised eyebrows on Friday night

Beau has always given 100% and i love the way he always goes off after a try or a great tackle. he is underated by many people on this forum but IMO he is definately our best option at the moment. but with utai playing great footy and lote to return in around 5 weeks i think he will be back to State cup.

What?? Are you kidding? Get with it Alexaki - players making their first appearance whether it be a debut or a return from injury are either gun players destined for rep honours or no hopers who must be close personal friends of the Sheens family to get picked. There is no room for this wait and see caper

Ryan is a pretty solid winger, again dont get why people bag him so much.
He'd make most sides, I think overall he was pretty good last year, he had a very bad game against souths, and shouldn't of kicked against saints in the semies, other than that good.

He is underated, altho it may not look as spectacular as utai banging it out of our own 20, Beau is very effective himself with his dummy half runs, and when fielding kicks is very good at setting up the next play by getting to the centre, and always gets a good play the ball. He is safe, and is a reasonable finisher. He is no superstar, but is a very competent footballer.

News flash we are not ever going to name 17 fully fledged super stars, even the good sides have a number of developing players and seasoned pros who do their job week in week out without heading straight to the hall of fame

Well said Goose. Look at Melbourne. Top of the comp with a team half full of journey men and juniors who fill their roles along with the Superstars.

No team can have a team full of superstars under the salary cap.

With everyone available I think Ryan will struggle for a spot but when he does play NRL you can never accuse him of not trying and is always trying to encourage other team mates.

I hope Ryan and the other 16 players privilaged to pull on a Wests Tigers jersey play to their full potential as we know we have a quality side who can beat anyone on their day.

At least we all these injuries we have given younger players like Woods and Miller a taste of NRL which can only hold them in good stead when their time comes. Also competition for spots can only lift the
standard of a team as you are only as good as your last game.

Give him a go…..its all a new season for Beau....good luck to him.

Some posters on here said the same thing about Utai and look at how he has gone. Is it really worth the risk ?
