Benji 2025 and Beyond

Benji has done enough 2024 - 2025 to show improvement in his coaching, the squad and overall performance.

2023 points differential -290 wins 4
2024 points differential -287 wins 6
2025 points differential -101 wins 7

Assuming we win another 3 games and keep score lines similar he has brought improved players and performance to the table. These are facts however we have a long way to go.
Jeez, I like optimism, but 'assuming we win another 3 games' is next level. I hope you are right Tyga.

Get someone from outside in now. Marshall needs a mentor, he needs to check his ideas and have someone coach him up. It's a shame that Dave Furner couldn't slot into that role... You know Mentor Marshall, try to punch out Farah! !?!?!!? But maybe there are others in league who can do this.

The mentor thing's getting a bit long in the tooth isn't it? Benji is looking way more jaded than he did early in 2024. I think he's nearly there. It's pretty safe to say he delivers the goods in 2026 or its time for the next thing. I drink benji kool aid by the pint but somehow this all needs to start coming together...

anyway, what did David bloody Furner do that we need from Benji? Finished 2nd last with a side stacked with rep players?? I think Benji's on track and doesn't need lessons on that one.

What a thing to celebrate. Mediocrity earns you another year old son.
It's a thing to celebrate when you've come last 3 years in a row.

I don't understand your comments, really. Benji doesn't get another year because Tigers now have more wins than 2024, he gets another year because that's the contract we gave him.

And then when you are last 3 years in a row, it is something to do better for once, even if it's a small better. It's the exact opposite of Madge where we got a little worse every year, and he was given almost 4 years chance.

But also this is just social media, it's about clicks and views more than the actual story. They need to generate content every week and they aren't even the official Tigers account.

Well, at that scale, if we make the 8 and get eliminated after one finals game... Luai gets a statue outside Leichhardt and the new stand gets renamed the Benji Marshall stand. It's weak as p1ss. It can be produced more grounded in reality,

ahh I didn't see that. I thought it was OG.

It's still clutching at some serious straws. How old will api and richo be by the time we get the points needed for a top 4 finish at this rate?
2 years if we keep increasing our wins by 50% each year. If we finish strongly and get into 9th or 10th it’s a very good base for next year in a number of ways.

Touché!!!

That's certainly the glass half full view. I was thinking more in terms of if we increased our wins per season by 1 match every year. (Top four in 2034 and Api is 42...)

You could be right. I hope we finish the season with a couple more wins. When was the last time we had the same starting halves from the end of one season to the start of the next?? I know it's easy to be jaded on this forum, but we head into the next season with one of the most settled squads we've had in ages. Imo we just need an extra tackle busting strike Centre to go with Taylan, we need more points and line breaks beyond what our halves can offer.

My spidey sense tells me that we'll do the Panthers at Commbank, hopes will be high again, and the the refs will nick it from us vs the Bulldogs, and then we'll be back to abnormal against Manly at Allianz and thereafter.
