Sadly he has been horrible in the trials…unchanged from when he played with us...

I wonder if "Benchy" feels the same toward Kirwan and he did to Potter when he was named on the bench...somehow I doubt it...

In all honest Marshall was good for us in 05 and 2010-11 there was a very lean period in between and a very bad period after 2011...I'm glad both parties have moved on and he is now "other fans" worries...it wont take long before the Blues fans turn on their marquee bench player

as for him starting on the bench i dont think it should be any massive surprise. he hasnt done well so far but it is still early days yet.

as i mentioned in a previous post, it is amazing how his terrible playing has no effect on me any more!

He was senational in 09 buddy. Carried the team and almost got us to the finals singlehandedly.

I did read it the other day it was way less I think around the 500 mark…

I've thought for a while that Benji would have made a great centre. The game against the dragons re-affirmed this train of thought. Yes, his defense wasn't great but I think by playing in the centres he would have been able to concentrate on his running game and work on his defense. Say whatever you like about Benji but he sure knew how to sniff out a line break

I cant believe how good Benji was and how awful he ended up…..that year when him and Hayne were killing it he was AMAZING....how did he end up so bad??

I agree. He was never a natural kicker of the ball. I can't recall an entire game when we could've said his kicking game gave us the win like a Lockyer Johns or Cronk. His passing game diminished the last 2 seasons leaving him embarrassed on many occasions. As a centre with his footwork and the flick he could've been as effective as Lyon or Gasnier.

i was actually very surprised how well he did at centre. maybe he should have been groomed as a centre instead of the ill fated no 7 experiment?

still, saying he could have been as effective as lyon or gasnier is a pretty big call…but i guess we'll never know.
