Very very well deserved , just watched those best of reels , geez he was a great player and freaky , congrats well done
Unbelievable highlight reel. No matter how many times you see those clips they are always entertaining. Certainly deserves the accolades for how he influenced the game.
Sure he threw a few into the third row but you don’t pull off some of those passes without having a go!
Hope he can bring that magic to his coaching career!!!

His skillset set him apart from the pack.
Was he a consistantly good 5/8? No, not at all.
Despite that, he still achieved a lot and this club would not still be here had he not played for us for so long.

I was very involved in junior RL, from Benjis debut right thru his career.
The influence and impact he had on thousands of kids playing the
sport was unbelivable.
We had to tell our front rowers to stop trying to do the benji step...
they all wanted to do it
Benji is tough too. I rememeber being at a game where his cheekbone or eye socket was broken early....he played the whole game with a broken face

His influence on a generation of kids is his legacy. A sidestep was always named "the Benji step".
Yes he was tough. He had a lot of early shoulder injuries and he came back still tackling blokes twice his size. I remember him having a bung leg and making a break and running around the fullback whilst pretty much limping to score....His years were my favourite as a fan.

For the many years of suffering, on the flip side we also had a pretty unique time as fans watching him do his thing in his prime. Well deserved.

I remember many many times the team playing bad or very average and at the 60 minute mark it was go time turn it on for 15/20 minutes score 24/30 points and Benji and Robbie 20 minute heroes
One game in NZ down by about 26 points 18 minutes to go and the tigers win by 6/8 points the winger Ryan scored 3 times just crazy good when they wanted to play
