Benji Marshall HOF #123

That video, we’ve all seen those moments a thousand times and still it takes my breath away. And that 6min was only a snippet of his career. A career highlight reel would be longer than some entire careers!

Unbelievable vision. Undeniable speed. Freakish hands. And no one exploited broken play like Benji - for that he was hands down the greatest.

Could turn a game on his own. The most unpredictable, exciting, x-factor player we probably will ever see.

Even through some dark periods, we had Benji. In that sense, we were the envy of the league.
No one made fans get out of their sets like him.

This honour is absolutely deserved.

Greatest WT ever.

Well deserved, along with my favourite backrower in Boyd.

Elias, well, shit person who is a couple of years older that lived down the hill from me and a mongrel who sold out Balmain. Could play hooker like no other though.

His skillset set him apart from the pack.
Was he a consistantly good 5/8? No, not at all.
Despite that, he still achieved a lot and this club would not still be here had he not played for us for so long.
It is a deserved induction. Congratulations.
I guess the gap between his best and worst was too big for him to feature in immortal discussions, but his best was as good as any who have graced a rugby league field. A freakish talent who continued to come up with the unexpected even after 19 seasons in the NRL. Certainly the best kiwi of all time, and a once in a generation player who could bring even opposition fans through the turnstiles and to their feet.

Congratulations to Benji. Something that doesn’t get mentioned as much as it should was his speed, he could step and take off at pace which is why he scored a few long range tries.

One thing about Benji when he was at his peak, I always thought we could win a game when he was on the field. It didn't matter what the score was, it wasn't over until it was over.
Its a shame he never got to play the majority of his career with a genuine 7, we could be talking about him in a higher echelon again.
Never forget the Warriors game in 2010 I think while Ivan was coaching them. We were down by 24 or something ridiculous and Ellis threw a freak behind the back pass for our first try, after that Benji went to school and we run them down and won.

Ah good memories.
Unfortunately Benji couldn’t coach our current team do that even if they started now !
