Benji Marshall - Mega Thread

We cant get rid of everyone…at this rate we might as well promote the whole NYC side and settle in for 3 years of dodging the spoon.

It is up to the coaching staff to get the best out of the players. They are failing to do such. Blair is an international who is playing like rubbish...as is Benji. Rowdy is another. Lawrence may never comeback to form due to his injury however Blair and Benji can with the right coaching.

Brooks & Moses are young men that are starting there careers ,getting a bit bemused at the hype for the two yes they have shown plenty of promise might I say promise. The club should not build anything around these guys at this stages other than offering them good contracts over the next few years. When an old guy like myself has seen all of this before on many occasions , I just hope to much is not expected of these two to early the game is a different beast these days played by huge men with massive strength , let them mature in to there bodies to be able to handle the load. On Benji his best has past and will never be revisited but he still has a lot to offer in many areas !I certainly don,t think he will be able to command a Million dollars a year but then If someone else wants to party up with that money good luck to them ! Don,t think the Tigers will could be wrong.

The shameful thing to our firstgraders is I think the u20s would do just as good as them if they were all promoted.

Some are hyping them up. Ive seen him (brooks) play a couple of games (not all) and he looked very good in them.

Im not asking for them to come into the side where the position is occupied by a competant player. Im asking that when we have players not performing why are we not promoting them?

Watch for talks to start between Penrith Panthers and the Wests Tigers in coming days over the future of star five-eighth Benji Marshall.

It’s no secret Phil Gould is looking for a high profile playmaker at the Panthers. He’s missed out on Todd Carney and Johnathan Thurston but another unexpected candidate has emerged in the shape of the struggling Tigers star.

Benji is the first to admit his form and confidence are down but is still furious about being relegated to the bench.

Gould not only wants a great playmaker but a high profile personality. And they don’t come any bigger than Benji.

But as I wrote on Thursday, they won’t break the bank for him and I’ve got serious doubts Benji would fancy a move to the mountains, anyway.

looking at this another way, should the club be reviewing its fitness trainers too. If fitness is an issue with the players then maybe a full review and overhaul is in order.

Lots of stuff needs to be reviewed.

Also why all this stuff about Benji's future? He is contracted until 2015, that contract saw his pay go up in line with that of the cap. If he does leave before that date then it will most likely be because he is not producing anything here at the Wests Tigers.
