Benji Marshall won't say sorry for Blues jersey

No Ink, your translator is broken again.

I am not fussed either way with how he has handled things. We all knew or at least had heard the rumours he was going to Rugby. He himself has ruled out playing for another NRL side and no one likes playing in England so it makes sense for him to go home and have a crack at union.

I have agreed he should not have appeared in another clubs jersey until he was done with us. That was a mistake. I dont believe he was sticking his finger up at the fans at all. My point is some are posting the same dribble over and again, each time trying to outdo each other with their nastiness. It is boring and it infests every thread

Its not ''the same dribble'' ….its a new interview from today people are commenting on

If you find it boring, why read it?
Thats pretty dumb imo...just bypass the BM threads.

How can you possibly? We could be talking about man walking on the moon and someone will revert the convo back to this bloke. It is becoming the new version of the Balmain v Wests saga.

If you dont understand that he has played his marketability card the entire way through his contract negotiations, flexed his media muscle to drag us through the dirt to do so. His management would have used his profile as a bargaining tool in his Rugby contract. Agree to all of that, everyone has to…

But you think that him posing in their jersey before finnishing his tenure in another code, for another club, wasnt a premeditated move? The promotional aspect, bad press or not, was a massive opportunity. The uproar, intentional. Thats marketing, find the biggest audience you can.

Once again, the big show is Bunji, all about Bunji... There was zero respect in his actions, at least not for the club or the fans, seems he has bucketloads for the almighty dollar though.

To think otherwise.... Player has to be bigger than the club I suppose.... no other way to rationalise it really.

The same dribble? Maybe if he wasn't putting himself in the spotlight everyday people wouldn't say anything.

I thought it was in bad taste and not very professional.dont let a employer tell you what you have to do before they start paying you…that was a cop out.

Its shows one thing this guy has got a bad attitude and even though he said hes not bigger then the club I honestly believe he thinks he is.

If I feel for anyone its potter in all this. hope he gets another year or 2 to prove himself.

Benji just needs to let his last 4 rounds of football do all the talking .
He shouldn't write another word or talk to any journos. He should train the hardest in the team , put his body on the line with every tackle & crawl off totally exhausted after he has shook hands with all of the young WT kids at the ground &. hopefully after them seeing him star with an awesome performance.

It just such a pity after 11 years with our great club , that this season will leave with such a bad taste in the mouths of so many fans on the way he has acted & played .
Maybe 4 great game performances in total silence mightn't change some fans hearts , but it might help the man leave with some dignity still intact .

Smeg, his recent behaviour has gone a long way in destroying his legacy here, and i think this article is just about the final straw. He's pretty much slapping the fans in the face, it doesn't get worse than that. Showing no remorse, or no understanding of how it might have made people feel who have followed and supported him for the last 10 yrs is a disgrace. Its sickening.

I agree with your points and rather than going out on a high, or at least with dignity, he's doing his best to be remembered as a douche who couldn't wait to finish his career at Wests Tigers. Really sad but after watching him in the media seemingly not caring about the situation he or the club are in, plenty of fans are going to stop caring about him quicksmart.

Unfortunately he is tarnishing his image and doesn't seem to be concerned at all.

He started to lose me in 2011 the way he was carrying on when Sheens was negotiating with Penrith, almost crying on the Footy Show. Then there was the business of him walking into his kitchen crying when Ryan and Heighington told him they were heading to the Sharks. Its just gotten worse and worse. He's a petulant child.

Kudos to you Stryker for sticking by this fool. Just like I haven't been able to see any good in this idiot since 2007 you don't seem to find anything poor. I love being right and am enjoying observing everyone finally seeing the light of this heartless player.

Again everyone, while we see red over this morons ego, it's this ego that has helped Wests dodge the biggest bullet by having him around. Give thanks and praise.

geeze Benji, not sure why you aren't interested in going out with a bit of style and class, the whole saga just reeks.

Can't even manage a simple apology to your fan base….

Should change the name of this forum to the "drama queen alliance"

LOL fair dinkum most of you could sook for your country. Benji may not be handling things well, but he is doing a greater job than most of this clubs fans.

I must admit that I was heartbroken when Benji announced his decision to leave. But I wished him good luck and hoped he played well for us the last few rounds. People still paid him out, but I stood up for him. So Stryker, I think I handled it well.

But this jersey incident changed that. It was disgraceful. After years of sticking up for the bloke, here he is wearing another teams jersey not 15 hours after another heartbreaking loss and with 4 rounds still to play!
No self-respecting team could possibly let a player get away with this. IT'S EMBARRASSING!
Come on Tigers, grow a pair!

it sucks we have to let him play cause of the salary cap…
hope he gets smashed by the roosters..

During the interview replace "suarez" with "marshall" and it's pretty spot on.

Wish our coach/management would echo this and take the proper action.

I was at concord today and he was made to do the interview, everyone expected he would apologise for his actions he wasn't keen in fronting the media and we got more bs. I for one have had enough and can't wait till he leaves so we can move on. He has no class whatsoever and is only tarnishing his own reputation. His manager is advising him quite poorly.

The wests tigers and all of us fans owe Benji alot

Benji owes us nothing

As far as i am concerned, Benji can do what he wants , he has earned that right

I agree tbh. People can say "the club raised him" but before he helped us to that premiership, where were we as a club?

He earned millions in direct payments from the club and millions from the brand he was able to develop from being the miracle flick pass kid who was part of a team that won a WT GF.

I think its a bit rich to say Benji owes the club nothing.

Hell, who's to say he even makes a career in footy if he didn't get scouted by this club from 10mins of game time as a junior?

And don't forget the many injury years, he was on the verge of being a spent force before 2010 and loyalty from the club enabled him to return to some form. Sure if we let him go he might have been signed elsewhere, but there is no guarantee about that, and a hundred things could have gone wrong from that point.
