Benji shoulders a milestone

This weekend’s Test match against Australia will mean a lot for Benji Marshall.

Running out as Kiwi captain and the reigning Golden Boot, this weekend will mark 4 years since he last suffered a shoulder injury – the 8 May to be precises.

It was back in Round 8 2007 when Benji suffered a fractured shoulder in the opening minutes of the Wests Tigers game against Melbourne Storm at BlueTongue Stadium in Gosford. Going in for a tackle on Israel Folau, Benji’s shoulder was slammed by Taniela Tuiaki’s knee, forcing Benji to sit on the sidelines for 12 weeks nursing a fracture.

Since then Benji has cast aside doubts about his ‘glass shoulders’ and has gone on to gain the New Zealand captaincy, win the 2008 Rugby League World Cup and 2010 Four Nations tournament before taking out the 2010 Golden Boot Award.

On Thursday 16 June 2011 Benji can celebrate 1,500 days free from shoulder injuries.

WestsTigersForum.com congratulates Benji Marshall on reaching this milestone and wishes him as much luck for the next four years.

foran & benji as a halves partnership has so much potential.
will get better, each year and i will enjoy watching it grow.

I hope whoever wrote that story Had his hand on his head and said touch wood . That saying" be careful what you ask for" …....

…yeah it does sound a bit jinxy....

I'm glad the club stuck with him and now him with them. He's capable of anything.

digital code sitting on a server in the USA, accessed by modems around the world and displayed on LCD screens as text will have **NO** effect on how Benji pulls up this weekend.

Did you say "touch wood " Kul .

This story was nearly a jinx. When Benji put a shoulder hit on JT last night he was nursing his shoulder for the next five minutes. I thought oh no, but it must have just been a stinger. LUCKY

*sigh*

I wish as many people who said "don't post that, you will jinx him!" will post "well, well, well, once again this proves that jinxes don't exist"

won't happen, will it :frowning:

Saying a Jinx doesn't exist is a jinx.

show me a shred of evidence that supports your theory and i'll agree with you :stuck_out_tongue:

**Numbers of times benji has approach an anniversary of his last shoulder injury and it's been noted:** 4
**Number of times benji has injured his shoulder after the anniversary was noted:** 0

0/4 = 0%

 you guys can keep believing it though. I mean 0%, wow!

What I remember about this night apart from Benji's injury was a sensational try by a young bloke called Chris Lawrence had to have stepped and swerved all the Storm players twice on his way to score under the posts!
