Benji signs with Auckland Blues

gives Benji the chance to:
be an All black player, also this maybe a bit closer to the mark, he gets the chance to represent New Zealand at the Olympics, as |I do believe that rugby union will be included in 2016..

so maybe he is aspiring to achieve this before his shoulders become too brittle, and can't take any impact at all.

It's kind of hard not to feel this way watching most of his performances this year. But still, I wish him all the best and hope he rediscovers some form.

Hes over in NZ thinking about next year when we have a game in a day, and still 5 more remaining for the year.
He is a fraud….some of you fools need to pull your heads from where the sun dont shine.

Im very happy he's gone...and theres plenty of WTs players coaches and officials feel the same...

I have been very grateful for all hes given the club, but gee that was so long ago.
He had the chance to leave as a club legend.
The way its going he'll be on a par with Sheens - hated

Yeah I agree 100% , you know what the problem is on this Forum ? there is to many supporters that live in the past when it comes to Benji , $700,000 WE OFFERED HIM FOLKS OVER 3 YEARS FOR A BUSTED CHOP AND PEOPLE HERE ARE SAYING ABOUT HIS LOYALTY? WELL HIS GOT NONE.
We showed loyalty to him when he had season ending injuries and kept signing him , we had loyalty to him.
By right he should be honouring his final 2 years of his contract if he had any LOYALTY , which to me indicates his in it for himself … Mind you i'm glad his going .
So Benji Good Riddance ... don't let the door hit you on the way out .
I recall him saying a few years ago how boring Union was :laughing:

2 good seasons 10 11

And the rest were woeful.

2012 and this season he has been a reserve grade player.

Don't blame potter because he was crap last year under sheens. He is a selfish player always trying to push cut out passes when it's not on, throw no look passes, flick passes to no one. All to make himself look good.

I agree, stuff him, good riddance. There seems to be this unwritten law that we have to be grateful for things he did 8 yrs ago, The last couple yrs in particular has left a real bad taste in my mouth and i know im not alone. I don't give a stuff about sentimentality, he has to go, he's a liability and we're better off.
 
Considering everything this is exactly what the club wanted and needs. He has been as useless as tits on bull for two seasons now and that is what the rah rah blues will have to contend with, good luck to them! :roll
 
Im completely over Benji. Most WT's fans are. He is completely over our club too. It's a good decision for both him and the club to move on. Im happy we have dodged a massive bullet salary cap wise. Potter needed Marshall to leave and so did the club.

I could bag him for his form or attitude. It has been pretty ordinary for a couple years. He did put the club on the map. He was a walking highlight real and a marketing machine. He was loyal and he was brilliant at times. For me the thing i respect time for most is coming back from 5 shoulder recos. That shows he is tough and loyal, he could have easily given up.

Im done with him at the Tigers but I will still clap him off after the 200 games because he was tough and loyal to come back from 5 shoulder recos, won us a comp and spent a decade here.

Thanks Benji but happy to see the back of you.
 
This guy is delusional to the extreme. He wouldn't be good enough for the all blacks under 12's. I presume he wants to play number 9 or 10 ? There is no place to hide in union which will expose him for what he is now. I see him getting creamed by those big backs who are twice as big and twice as heavy and twice as fast as him. I don't see any lengthy union future for him in my crystal ball. Greedy Bandit….
 
Thanks for the memories but the Blues are wasting their money. And wow he actually thinks he can make the All Blacks. Firstly look at the players they have playing for New Zealand, no way he can make it. Secondly you need to be able to tackle otherwise you will be steamrolled. And thirdly you need to run the ball. Benji never runs the ball anymore and when he does he always s**ts his pants !!
 
Personally i'm over him, his attitude suck's. He does'nt like the coach, well it's just a shame he's payed a ton of money to play under whoever the club hire to coach him. He still has 2 years remaining on his current contract, if the tigers did this to benji he would have been thrown on the scrap heap when he needed his second shoulder op. But we stuck with him the club pulled him out of mediocrity and gave him a fantastic opportunity to make a better life for himself, he has been paid well, well above his actual worth and he is still not happy. I say good luck Benji hope all work's out in the future for you, hope you achieve all you want, i dead set refuse to thank you for 2005, the last time i checked it was a team sport and there was a whole team of champion's who one that year not one kid.

I'm happy he is going as well. Anyone who has watched him play this season and maybe last season as well has seen a player who has lost it.

Calling him a fraud though is way over the top. He is trying hard, he has always represented the club well and comes across as a good guy. Personally I think his time as a quality player is over and whoever pays his salary next year will not be happy.
