Benji

Benji played his best game in a very long time tonight. He ran the ball and created opportunities instead of only just running sideways. He made some great try assist passes and didn't just throw Hail Mary's like he has been doing most of the year. He was definitely a little more controlled and picked his moments better. He even showed passion, pressure and desperation in defense. It definitely helps when the forwards do their part.

I know Benji wasn't perfect but we have to give him some credit when he does some good things. I've been critical of him lately like a lot of people, but I'm really happy with what he did tonight. Lets hope he gets some confidence from tonight and begins to get some more consistency every week from now on.

Not sure if any one else agrees?

I think he came into the game on the back of the poor defense by the Eels and the meters we were getting in the second half…

He looked good tonight, but he still needs a halves partner?!

100 percent no doubt about that. Someone to control, Bunj to create. A match made in football heaven.

I think we should put Nofoaluma onto the wing and move Utai to five-eighth. Call me crazy but I think it just might work!

Crazy!

No, but Utai isn't very controlled on the ball

The issue is, Sheens will not pick a halfback to partner him.

We wouldn't have won without Benji tonight, he was brilliant again, looked more confident. And now he has a speedster to throw the ball to… GO TIGERS!
Ps, Liam did all right, let's leave him at 5/8.

He finally took the line on and ran the ball more, he has to play to his strengths, he has to be allowed to play to his strengths.

He did run the ball but he also kicked the ball and controlled the play really well. To add to that his defence was really good.

Yep now we have a significantly better record this year with benji at half 7 wins 4 losses as opposed too ly winning 3 loosing 6 with him at five eight and I think it's showing he is defiantly our permanent halfback until his career ends we just need to get Sironen fit outside him next year

He is and always should be first receiver.

Put 6 or 7 on his back doesnt matter anymore.

When he wants the ball and is in the mood, untouchable.

With Farah controlling the ruck and Marshall setting up the play, the attack is lethal.

Now it all comes back to defence….....

I was very happy to see Benj run the ball last night. He had players in motion everywhere and even though Para has a worse defense than us, they were bamboozled with ball movement many times.

Those stats are slanted boonboon, he hasnt had a halfback inside him when he played 5/8 this year. Benji at half and Sirro at 5/8 is not the answer. Look how fluid our backline looked last year when Benji had Lui running the dirty work inside him. That freed Marshal up to create try scoring opportunities. I still think this has been Benji's worst full season in the top grade and I have said before that I dont blame him entirely for this, but he took a great step forward last night.
