Woulda, coulda, shoulda

I liked watching Benji when he played for us.
I liked watching big Artie when played for Balmain

They're gone now.

I like watching Tedesco

I'm pretty sure Benji was watching last night and wishing he was out there.
Thanks for all the great memories and I wish him all the best.

With these forwards we have now and Luke Brooks directing play he could've come back to his devastating best.

We would be playing a lot different this year if benji was still here and i think for the better, he would have his usual flair along with his usual mistakes. I just can not believe we finally get a team for this bloke to kill it and he leaves us. His 3 best years was when he actually had a half back next to him so he was free to play his natural game. 2005, 2010, 2011\. we finally bring through a real half back and benji is no longer here, sad really. Sheens absolutely stuffed benjis career up by trying to re-invent the game by not needing a half back. massive fail and Sheens should be remembered for stuffing Benjis career, im sure their would have been a couple more trophies in the cupboard if we actually bought a half back and never had the johnny cronk years and the absence of a half back after Liu was dumped up until this year.

Fair dinkum Marshal left the club 6 months ago and people are still nailing him….
Pretty pathetic.

How good is it not to see him running around this year? We have a more structured backline with more well constructed plays. I cannot say I miss him.

Tedesco signed with roosters

Why look to the past and mention someone who couldn't possibly fit into the plays that the young guns have going today? No offense to the past but for me it is a case of Benji who?

Benji was abut the best thing that happened to the club. We rode off the back of his profile for years in terms of crowds, sponsorship, popularity and exposure. We also had some success with him there and played a very exciting brand of football.

However everything that was good about him eventually turned bad. His youthful spirit became arrogance. His east-west style made us totally agains the way the good sides were playing. Our whole club depended on his performances and once he lost his speed and his determination he became a real liability. His power and his influence at the club became detremental

Whilst we was the best thing that ever happened to the club. It was our best decision ever to part ways with him. It has broken up the boys club, players are stepping up and playing for each other this year. You can tell on the field they are a different proposition. We are also adopting to the modern style of winning rugby league. A more direct style with power and aggression.

Thanks for the memories Benji, however he was terrible for 2 years running and I certainty am delighted he is no longer with us.

Just think. If we had Benji now, would we be able to keep these stars of the next generation? What chance would we have of resigning Tedesco?

Some seem confused. Benji was contracted for several more years at a wage that was well over what his performances in 2012/13 justified.

He chose to QUIT knowing full well we had Brookes, Tedesco and the rest.

Club legend but I for one was glad he walked out on his contract.

Benji Marshall and his manager have rubbished reports that Blues coach Sir John Kirwan is disenchanted with the rugby league convert.

Reports out of Australia suggest Marshall, unhappy about irregularity in starting, was looking for a move to Super League in England. But manager Martin Tawber and Marshall say the rumours are incorrect.

"I don't know where this has come from, Benji's playing rugby in New Zealand, he's comfortable in New Zealand, he loves the Blues and he understands he needs to earn his position," Tawber told 3 News.

"There's been no approach and that's gospel."

"Super League in Great Britain – highly unlikely, ever."
