Benji

omg, Listened to the post match interviews, and about his own game Benji commented that he "didn't get involved as much as he'd like"…

He's a Tiger legend yes, but Reserve Grade is where he should be if we want Brooks (who most agree is/was in career best form) to lead the team.

Dean Pay mixed if up this round… Dropping some players and benching some big names.
Maybe we need to do the same in the next game.
Keep it interesting....

The form decline has coincided with his son being born.

Coincidence?

Doesn't explain the 1st 4 weeks GNR ??

He more than anyone needs to get back to basics , smart kicking game , control the game using some smarts

I said from day one that even good Benji has patches of bad Benji in him.

Blind Freddy could have seen this coming,
I think we all forgot for a moment that its Benji we're talking about and unfortunately he's the type of player that rubs off on the whole team, if he's playing well the team usually plays well, if he's not then usually the team isn't.

I am actually a bit worried, I have watched Benji for years (like we all have) and he plays his worst when he tries to hard. You know, the miracle play.

I think Benji might think we’ve got nothing and is trying to over-compensate…..and it’s hard not to agree with him. We will tackle ourselves to a standstill but in terms of options and creativity, we really don’t have much to offer. Brooks is the only other option. Hooker and fullback are not creative players so Benj just tries to hard.

Love Benji.
One bad game in a while is excusable. This just makes me sad.

You can love him all you like, but he has been a big part in losing tight games against Parra and Newcastle, and showed no leadership at all with his ridiculous kicks and grab defence today. The return of the prodigal son emotion is well and truly over. He should come from the bench or not at all.

But we need to stay in the grind and give ourselves a chance like we did early in the year. All or nothing plays is old style tigers….Cleary needs to knock it on the head. I would be dragging benji in explaining what we need and saying it can’t happen again otherwise we are going to go another way.

You blokes can analyse all you like.
The fact is, he has far more bad games than good in him and we can't afford it.
