Bernard Tomic has just won in straight sets to win his way in quarter finals at Wimbledon He now plays Novak Djocovic Is Bernard going to be our next big thing in Australian Tennis

He could well be our next big thing in Aussie tennis, happy. Just watched the match too, the kid is on fire!

It would be massive if he wins that next match, but, it's a big ask. Good luck to him.

Actually didn't watch it Mrs T Wife did she said he played really well . I was on the way home from work after the Saints Manly score watched him beat the number 5 seed last round Huge ask to beat Djocovic , but you never know .

Glad to see him coming of age. Hope he can move onto greater heights in the game and become a consistently good player - something that most of the promising Aussie tennis players (both male and female) have failed to do, in recent years - Hewitt excepted.

Its good to see another good male Australian tennis player, Hewitt hasn't done anything since 05, and Stoser always chokes, give him a few years and he'll be in top ten guarantee it

The kid has heaps of ability unlike 99% of the Aussie tennis players that come through these days, and he's really starting to aim up. I hope he can knock off Novak and get into the Semis, but I don't see it happening. If he can back it up and finish the year strongly he will finally get the wheels turning for his career and get himself a good ranking. Apart from Hewitt (who basically has carried Australian Tennis on his shoulders for 10 years, with his polarising antics) and Stosur (who blew a golden opportunity last year) no other Aussie has even looked like getting close to winning a grand slam in the past 5 years, although there are a few other decent Aussie players out there…but three times as many no hopers.

after 9 i think. I can never figure out the Wimbledon website, I don't think they even publish the times until the day before.

No. 1 Court, 13:00
so that should be 22.00 here

Went down in 4, not a bad effort at all considering Djokovic is the form player in the world this year.

Tomic lead 3-1 in the third and lost the next six games Thats where he lost it unfortunately But give him his due he went toe for toe with the No 2 in the world for four sets . Even Djokovic clapped him off to his chair after the game

He certainly didn't look out of place there against the world number 2\. I think we will see much more of him in coming tournaments

He is the 4th youngest man to ever reach the QF at Wimbledon. The 3 that did it younger are Becker, Bjorg and McEnroe, all would probably be top 20 players of all time. That shows you just how much talent the kid has.

While on stats, in another quarter Tsonga became the first player ever to come back from 2 sets to love down against Federer and win. Federer had won all 168 matches in his career when he had won the first 2 sets (not including best of 3 set games).

You'd think Djokovic would beat Tsonga and Murray will fold in the other semi and we'll have a cracking Djokovic vs Nadal final.

I wouldn't write Tsonga off so easily. He will be on a high after beating Federer and he is very, very hard to pass when he's in that mood.

I give him a chance, but right now Djokovic is a much better player than Federer (never thought I'd be saying this 12 months ago). I'll be surprised if Tsonga gets over him, but if he is on his game the entire match he has a real chance, that's a big if though.
