Hahahaha, all u want is a fair go? QLD have cheated in origin since it began. They will pick Kiwi's, Fajians, Papua New Guinniens and even bloody New South Welshman. I feel sorry for QLDers, 2nd class citizens who cheat but convince themselves they dont…...........sad.

Sirro, sirro, sirro…

NSW are the only side that cheats when it comes to Origin. For the past 5 years they have played very little football, prefering instead to try and bash our stars out of the game. They picked a team of grubs and called them 'origin tough'. Their goal was to take the playmakers out of the game.

At least this year they did come to play football but that was because they had the referrees in their pocket as well as the judiciary.

That charge on Thurston was a disgrace. Sure Taylor deserved a suspension but so did Uate.

NSW FOG's consisting of loudmouthed legends such as Johns, Roach, Elias etc....talked crap the whole way through the series. I especially loved Goulds comment that QLD fluked game 1\. What a tool! What an embarrasment!

If he and the rest of the squad had of managed to prepare for the game at all they would realise that the maroons score a try - all most every single game of the exact play that won us that game.

Good on Mal. He waited until the job was done and then voiced his opinions. Unlike everyone south of the border he concentrated on the game at hand, delivered the result and then spoke his piece.

NSW has to take a leaf out of his book and learn to focus.

x 2 My Canetoad brother All the scum of NSW got picked to try and intimidate and bash us into submission Bird , Watmough , Glenn Stewart etc .
Funny with all the dirty shots etc they put up not one citing ,no charges . It was clear through Gallens comments early in game 2 was that they were going to intimidate the refs also
Why wasn't Gallens comments in game 2 classed as bringing the game into disrepute .
Gallen may have played well but he was still his grubby self . Despite everything and everyone doing everything possible to derail us we still won . Shows you what state the game is in for NSW based players . Prepare for more pain my Mexican friends

Yeah gallen knocked GI's head off in game 2…it was late, high and intentional. Did he get penalised? Did he get cited?

No everyone said he was the best prop in the world....

Arrogance at its finest! Petro and Scotty showed him up big time in game 3.

That hit on GI should of been a grade 3 or grade 4 deliberate but no of course not . Suppose it wouldn't matter NSW would have found some loophole that only they knew about to Gallen off .

**Meninga stands by anti-NSW column**
Fri, Jul 15, 2011 - 10:07 AM

Queensland State of Origin coach Mal Meninga has refused to apologise to NSW rugby league identities who threatened him with legal action over his explosive Sunday Mail column.

Meninga told Friday's Courier-Mail he stood by his printed reaction to what he called unfair off-field behaviour against himself and his team.

"There is no way to put it delicately," he told the newspaper. "But what I said needed to be said. They have called me a ranter. They have called me a raver. They have called me a weirdo, called me mad. "But the people of Queensland needed to be made aware of the hurdles that their team had to overcome to bring them victory. "The easy thing to do would be to say, 'well, we won the series' and cop it on the chin. "But I wanted everyone to know the hurdles this team has faced so that next year, the people responsible for it will not think they can get away with it without us biting back. "They started this fight, with the tactics they employed this year. "It got to the stage where we couldn't retaliate because it would have harmed our preparations to do so. The smart thing was to wait until the job was done, all the emotion was taken out of it at the end of the series, and let a few people know what we thought.

"This was not a column where I just shot from the hip. This was a few weeks in the making, right from before the State of Origin series began. "I knew there would be a lot of drama, a lot of media banter around Origin. There always is and I think it is fantastic for the game. "It adds to the theatre of Origin. But when it descends from spirited banter to a blatant personal attack, that is when the line has been crossed. That is what really upsets me. Personal attacks and hypocrisy this year took things too far."

Meninga was particularly angered during the interstate series by newspaper stories saying he was simply a figure head and others were responsible for the exploits of the winning team.

he had until 5pm Thursday to notify NRL match review chairman Greg McCallum whether he intended delivering an unreserved apology and front page retraction for his stinging comments in last weekend's Sunday Mail or face possible legal action.

:roll

the fact meniga took the bait of rothfield's article about him not being the real coach of qld makes me think even more that rothfield was right.

THE match review committee has today initiated defamation proceedings against Mal Meninga and Queensland's Sunday Mail newspaper.

A statement of claim has been filed with the Supreme Court of NSW on behalf of the Committee after attempts to find an alternative resolution proved unsuccessful this week.

Meninga was given until 5pm on Thursday to apologise for calling NSW officials ``rats and filth'' in a post-Origin column published last Sunday.

Instead the Queensland coach remained defiant yesterday, saying: "What I said needed to be said".

The NRL released a statement confirming legal action will now go ahead, it read:

The National Rugby League will support the Match Review Committee’s proceedings at least until such time as the offending statements made in relation to them are withdrawn and an apology is issued.

“The statements in the article were seriously offensive to individuals who carry out important roles for the game with absolute integrity,” NRL Chief Executive, Mr David Gallop, said today.

“This has nothing to do with interstate rivalry or a person’s right to challenge a decision but it has everything to do with the fact that there are laws against falsely attacking a person’s good name and reputation.

“Had it involved an NRL coach it would certainly have resulted in a substantial fine which may have in some way lessened the need for independent legal action from the parties involved.

“In any case it remains our responsibility to assist in protecting those people who carry out important roles for the game from baseless allegations of bias or corruption.

“The members of the Match Review Committee are entitled to defend themselves in such a situation and are entitled to expect that the game will offer them support in the process.”
