Taqele <won't even="" both="" trying="" his="" last="" name="">.

Had a look at him today in the Bears vs Tigers game (Tigers 16 Bears 12 in a hard fought defensive struggle) and WOW he has some damn go forward up the middle. They didnt spread it wide too much but when they did there'd be 2-3 players on him straight away usually a winger and fullback plus maybe a centre. I can definitely see his value at wing although I didnt get to watch him in open space too much so not sure exactly how fast he is.

But, do people reckon he can make a name for himself as a speedy prop? Cause his big problem is positioning and ball handling errors which doesnt come up too much as a prop. We can persevere and turn him into a Greg Inglis type player (just way bigger :laughing🙂 or try him at prop.

Fast prop vs. Massive winger. Thoughts?</won't>

Massive winger ,he will have a cult following like Taniela if he can cut it and would give us tremendous clout when bringing it out of our red zone

As soon as we have attacking options on both sides , we will become a more dangerous attacking unit

I saw him play for BRET plenty of times.
He gets involved everywhere, taking the big hits up the middle, running as a wide back rower and getting out in the wing too. It seems now wing is where he is being named but there are many options with him.

When he's out on the field you can't miss him, he's a freakin giant.
Very hard to tackle. Fingers crossed he is in first grade soon.

Go forward in Sate cup & firsts is not the same. He was getting smashed by people 20kg's lighter in the trial…. literally driven back.

Add to that he cannot catch.

Not ready for 1st's

astute post. I think he wasn't running hard at all in that trial game. Dunno why, nerves, out of place who knows. I think he would have good go forward in 1sts if he carted it up with determination like koro does. Definitely right about his ability to catch though. That's why I suggested prop.

I'd like to see him stay on the wing, other than Koro, we don't threaten on the wing. Nofoaluma will be handy when given a go, but Mr T…well yeah, he could be our next Tuiaki if he continues to work hard and develop. I also think he could be good as a wide running backrower, but I'd like to see him stay on the wing.

More then anything he needs to work on his aggression and handling

As i've said before, he was a prop, then a back rower, and now a winger.

Can he be aby worse than Utai? No. Worse than Reddy? Defensively, yes he probably is. In attack much more potent than either, and he's big and strong and is faster than utai or reddy.

Put him next to simona in first grade. They have combinations and their size compliments each other well..

Deserves his chance. That's a good backline..for now…. and Mr T will contest the bomb.

If Utai is left on the wing then Potter must teach the other players to stand in a circle around him because that ball could bounce anywhere.

Aspeeli Fine. Last years NYC centre has been playing wing.

A lot more involved, more aggresive, better hands and good in the centre when required.

Honestly as much as I think T is a huge talent I think Fine is better prepared to provide what the NRL side requires right now

He started off as a winger when both he and Koroibete joined the club as NYC players.
