BIGGEST LOSS???

All said and done the biggest reason for our slump is the loss of Lui, I watched a replay from last year and the way he worked the team around the field and let Benji do his thing,WELL i have not seen any of the 1/2 backs this year do it.
Mr Sheens has a lot to answer for If molzton was the new great hope for this year then why was Joey Johns not brought in to help him during the off season, surely a off season working with Johns would be really helpfull. :bash

It is my opinion also that Lui not being here has hugely affected the flow of the backline.

The only natural halfback we had to replace him with is too green still. Moltz was called upon to fill the gap but has shown so far that he isnt up to it…it is not his position. That is not Sheens' fault. Joey would have made little difference. You learn the best from experience. Lui took a long time to get to the level he was at for the last month or so of last year.

It is such a shame that he stuffed up. I truly believe we would be sitting in the top 4 if he was with us with yet another full off season behind him.

We just have to persevere and hope someone - maybe Tommy Humble, will get things cracking again in this department.

Lui was a huge loss. Anyway, we had no choice in the end, he is rubbed out the game anyway.

Benji's best mate is the first one who should be shown the door. I was celebrating when he was shown the door last season, and fuming when we recalled him. He makes selective efforts which is a very harsh view to have of a footballer. He is talented, but give me a Beau Ryan type anyway who runs hard, generally puts the body on the line and plays with a bit of passion.

Anyway once we clear out some dead wood, we should put most the chips in for a halfback. Anasta might be ok for a year or two but is not a long term solution.

Lui is our biggest loss, but he wouldnt off played this year anyway//

Too true. I was talking however in the event that he hadnt punched his missus out, therefore he would have still been with us and improving more on last years set up.

I agree the loss of lui def takes away from our effectiveness in attack but I don't think he is irreplaceable. It's just a matter of time before humble gets that combination going with benji & Farrah & he can def defend a lot better than lui!

For mine, the loss of payten, Gibbs, fifita & Dwyer has really hurt us early on. We've

Damn iPhone!!

What I was going to say is that we've really struggled in our go-forward & defence around the ruck so far this year & I think any backline would therefore find it hard to fire. However we're starting to come good here (really proud of our boy's defence last week!!)

Also think Teddy was a big loss. He carved the sharks up in his 30 min of glory & is gonna be a real star when he returns!

Anyways its a long season & we've shown before that we're very much a confidence team so let's get the ball rolling on Sunday!!

How many winning games did Lui play in 2011?
How many winning games did Gibbs play in 2011?
How many games winning games did Payten play in 2011?
How many winning games did Lui and/or Gibbs and Payten play in 2011?

Lui is no loss, pure scumbag.

Tedesco is a loss, Gibbs is a loss and Ellis is a loss.

Lui was in the bottom 4 halfbacks in the game on the feild and a pure scumbag off the feild.

Can we stop talking about him yet?

Scumbag he is, but his game complimented Benji nicely. Our attack just flowed effortlessly towards the end of last year. Now it looks like they have never played together before.

I really hope Tommy H can replicate.

This, things were coming along nicely with our attack.

Get over it - when his non existent defence was costing us game after game last year everybody wanted him punted.
He would have been lucky to play 3 or 4 GOOD games in 2 years.
Funnily enough when Moltzen hit form after being moved around all year we started winning games.
If we hadn't had so many injuries this year Moltzen would still be at halfback and killing it - and Lui would be long forgotten like he should be.

IMHO the biggest loss is Ellis:

1 Ellis
2 Tedesco
3 Dwyer
4 Gibbs

Gains: loss of Lui (bad defender, off field issues) and Fifita (endless sideway running, lazy, bad attitude).

You cant see how well he was developing last year, yet you can see into the future and predict Moltzen would be killing it.
OK

Personally don't think he had any further development in him ink- but we saw when Moltzen was left in one spot last year he grew another leg.
No matter what anyone says Moltzen is a halfback - played there for junior Kangaroos and was our rookie of the year.
Given time he would have adjusted to playing there again.
At present he most probably serves the team better at fullback.
Again on Lui - it looks like we'll need wait another year to see what happens there.
