Billy Slater gets away again

I don't think there was anything in that specific tackle but billy has alot of grub in his game. This isn't a storm/QLD hating statement-it's a fact. Slater has done some pretty spiteful things (leading withi knees/studs up, kicks to heads, elbows etc..) in his career but somehow has a knack of not having a case to answer.

Anyways, wests won, good triumphed over evil.

Did he use his arms in the tackle? no. thus shoulder charge. have a look at the thread ink linked, there's screenshots of the tackle not one with him using his hand.

Yes he did, I suggest you have another look at the post Ink made with the screen shot. His arm is extended and involved in an attempt to tackle in conjunction with his shoulder. As Southern said, he slipped and I also think there was alittle bit of self preservation as he had his head in the wrong position…all in all it was a dreadful tackle more than it was a blatant attempt to flout the rules as some on here have suggested.

Absolutely. I watched the replay last night and he clearly uses the arms.

Didn't think that was a shoulder charge either. I'd rather focus on how good it is to see Nofo smash his way thru one of the best fbs in the game. Our boys have no fear & plenty of potential. Lovin it!!

Nothing wrong with just penalising the shoulder charges that made contact with the head….it was a small percent

We saw 3 concussions in tonites game....all accidental

But hey...lets just put frigging velcro tags on their shorts and be done with it eh?

Thats one way of doing it but unfortunately there is so little control over a shoulder charge that the view is to do away with it completely. That tackle on Bullock in reggies, which would have been fine Bullock wasnt on the way down, was sickening. I miss the big hits but dont want to a kid maimed for life because of a tackle gone wrong.

The problem is players are bigger and heavier than 20 years ago and they can do a lot more damage than players of yesteryear.

He is a beast and a hell of a finisher…imagine what he will be after he reaches 50 games with a couple of off seasons to work on his game....

It was a shoulder charge…. doesnt matter how or why, but by the rules it was.

I dont like the new rules, I would have preferred they just hammered players who made contact with the head, but thats not where the game is. I was pissed, still am to an extent that we have been done in similar incidents, Lawrence also sighted for no legitimate reason last week, yet others seem to get green lit.

I think Billy is a germ, and probably played into why I was so fired up, wasnt about the hit, I dont know, probably more sick and tired we seem targetted week in week out by the refs, yet others untouchable.

Wish they could just call a game on face value. Refs are human, there will be mistakes, but they shouldnt be bias.

No more than koro did twice in i think it was the leichardt game vs cowboys. And his arm didn't look like it was in any way part of the tackle, just happened to brush nofo because he has two of em and 'crap happens.'

In my opinion the rule is crap and needs to be either removed completely or really drawn back so that very little is deemed a 'shoulder charge.'
