I panic sold our last coin last year when it got back up to 15k
Just checked the current price ?

Don't check the price in 2 yrs then.
Bought my first Bitcoin at $642, even then I hesitated thinking the price was too high, we'll be doing the same thing about today's price.

Yep your on the money
I was actually gifted one at the end of 2017 at their peak.spent a few days on the independent reserve trading them and I was blown away by how much money you could make in such a small amount of time.
I personally don’t know a great deal about them.when I first started dating my wife the first time I went to her house I was going to the toilet and I saw a room full of these weird computer looking things.she said “my brother mines these things called bitcoin”
Needless to say my brother in law has achieved some crazy things before he has even turned 30.
All from crypto

Some have the foresight to see where our future is heading and what types of tech will be needed and required when we get there, and some take a little more time to realise it.

The future for Crypto and AI is looking bright but more importantly will make the way we make decisions as a collective one more fair

For the record, since I mentioned that Bitcoin had broken a resistance level and confirmed the beginning of the Bullmarket it has risen by 60%.

Where have all the naysayers gone?

You were calling people to jump on Bitcoin early May? Price was around $15,000aud/Bitcoin.

Early August, you mentioned again jumping on Bitcoin @ $15,800Aud.

Since that time up until late October, Bitcoin had been steady, trading between 14,000 - 15,000 for the most part, apart from 2nd 1/2 of August which it was in the $16,000 range.

Early October Bitcoin was trading @ $15,000.. If someone was to hold onto Bitcoin during that 6 months, they would have broke even. I didn't notice you asking where the naysayers were then.

In my opinion, the spike of late was caused due to the US elections. People trade on news, none of those big investors could care less what Bitcoin offers 'for the future', its seen as a commodity or like FX.

I'm not against buying bitcoin, I just don't see the fuss when you can make just as much or even more trading fx/stocks.
Atleast there is less speculation with stocks if you research well.

I said if Bitcoin broke the 10.5k USD resistance that it would confirm the Bullmarket
The price in AUD was 14.3k at that time.

You still don't seem to get what's going on, all I'll say is you'll one day wish you bought Bitcoin this year

Getting into Bitcoin now is just as much speculation as trading FX or stocks, unless you are actually mining coins. It's just the new trend that will probably be overshadowed by something else in 10 years.

I don't think it's going anywhere it's proven itself, imo the risk is not owning any Bitcoin or other Crypto at all.

It's changed my life in ways I never thought possible, I could have worked a 9 to 5 job for 20 lifetimes and not had the opportunity I now have because of it.
The most important thing it's given me is, freedom from association.

I now get to choose who I spend my time with, this life is short, I want to spend it with the people I want.
Working a 9 to 5 job doesn't allow that, spending most of your day with people who really don't give a rat's about you (but have to act like they do) isn't my idea of living.

I was pointing out that getting into bitcoin at this present time is no different to trading in shares or currency. Both of those give you freedom from a 9-5 job if you know how to trade. Bitcoin is just another market, people are kidding themselves if they think bitcoin will turn out to be some currency that it was intended to be. Its beneficial for black market buying & money laundering, but there is no way it will replace fiat currency.
When banks & governments start introducing their own crypto coins, those at the top of the bitcoin food chain will most likely pull out & jump ship causing a downward spiral in the bitcoin price. Anything backed by government will always have the masses follow it.

Funny thing about reading this now is that banks, governments and the biggest hedge funds on the planet are all positioning themselves in Bitcoin.
Square recently got involved, that forced PayPal's hand, I'm predicting by early next year we'll see Google pay and Apple make an announcement.

What we're seeing the beginning of is "corporate game theory" playing out, if these large institutions fail to position themselves, they'll face severe competitive consequences.

For anyone who's interested Bitcoin just broke it's all time high, strap yourselves in ladies and gentlemen.

I guess that means it's gonna drop like 50% in the coming weeks hahahah

Euphoria over rising assets never ends well in the short term. Learned this the hard way at various trading firms over the years.

I would think that the really old buggers like me would remember "Poseidin Shares" back in the dim dark days where you couldnt supposedly lose your money. For the younger supporters research them. There is no such thing as a "free lunch" as Robert Heinlen would say.

I have a bit of an interest, got a small amount a few years back

I will say that I believe threads like this shouldn’t be allowed on the Forum. It’s essentially giving financial advice, any amount of kids/impressionable people could be reading this and taking it on board. Could be fairly dangerous and honestly think it’s irresponsible to allow it

I started the thread to see if there were any other Crypto users here, and just saying what I'm seeing.

Turn on, tune in, opt OUT ✌️

I'm expecting a healthy pullback but not 50%, I don't know why volatility scares some away, it's why i got interested in Bitcoin initially

I doubt you'll hear one person say they're scared of volatility. Especially me being an options trader.

30%, 40%, 50%... It's all the same. Overcooked markets drop quick and fast. The key indicator is when you see people flashing around their gains and bragging about PNL(unrealised gains in most cases)...

I see a lot of that at the moment which inclines me to believe there's pain around the corner. Buy the blood as they say...
