Bite the bullet, just do it WT

Since we've merged, consistency has been our biggest problem. I put it down to not having one home ground. Let's face it not only has the team suffered in a way, so have the fans and probably membership numbers. I think our time has come. We need one ground. Let's stop this never ending Balmain & Magpies tug o war once and for good, base us at SFS this way no favoritism is shown. Not everyone would be pleased, but the team benefits. Let's get it all done now, a time when it looks likely the NSW cup sides will be merged. I'm sick of it, please let us know your thoughts.

We would continue to be inconsistent and lose our identity all in one go! Our consistency issues run a lot deeper then merely the grounds we play at. What about….

Our previously small forward packs
The inability of our playmakers to control games
Lack of a consistent goal kicker
Too much emphasis on throwing the ball around and looking "pretty" rather than putting in and doing the rough stuff
Injuries (although all teams have this issue)
Failure to drop players who are out of form

Our win loss ratio and Campbelltown is not that impressive. If this was the sole primary factor responsible for our form then I would expect we would be winning more games at our home grounds.

Until we can start a season and win 7 of our first 10, we will continue to teeter on the edge of the 8\. I don't know why Sheens can't have us ready to go at the start of the season......but the fact is he can't!

Change our homeground to a place in the middle of Sydney? No logic in that. Should be 6 leichhardt 6 campbelltown

I understand where you're coming from, but there would be a huge uproar if the Tigers were to abandon their traditional home grounds. I truly think Campbelltown could become a first class stadium given some funding. It's got great infrastructure surrounding it, with the Leagues Club and train station nearby. Plus there's plenty of space around it that could allow expansion. I would love for it to turn into something like Hunter Stadium. South West Sydney needs a first class stadium.

What every happened to the facilities at Blacktown?

While I agree that not having one home ground places us at a significant disadvantage, playing all games at the SFS isn't the answer. As the ground is used by other teams, as well as for finals matches, it doesn't, and wouldn't ever, have a home ground feel.

It's nothing special. I dont know how they can call it "International". The only international thing about it is they play reserve grade wog-ball games there. The only field with any sort of capacity is the round field for AFL, and it's only got 10,000 seats. GWS use it for training, all their games are now at Olympic Park

Disagree with the OP, I don't think the changing home ground is the issue.

Altho Id love to play 6 at the 2 suburban grounds, I don't think that is financially viable, and I also think at Leichhardt especially, the fact we only play 4 games a year is what makes it so attractive.

I think our inconsistency comes from the skill sets of our star players, Benji and to a lesser degree Robbie, have strengths, notably the excellent ability to play what is in front of them and benefit from going off script, they dont always play the percentages, but over the course of the year wins you more games than it loses. But the way they play lends itself to mistakes.

Also I reckon we have had 5 out of the last 6 years we have had a far worse than average injury run (2010 being the exception), bad luck or something else I dont know, but this has hurt our consistency as well.

Let Junior Moors replace Blair in the starting line up and given him decent minutes to show his worth.

Get rid of all dead wood to sign Luke Lewis. champion player

Drop an International player for a reserve grade player? (and a very ordinary reserve grade player at that)

Wow.

I see where you are coming from but I don't think that is the root of the problem with our inconsistency ( that part I agree with). But your thread does have merit.

yeh i see where you're coming from as well and tbh i agree with you to some extent
im of a generation which had nothing to do with balmain or magpies.. i dont have much to do with either of them and imo the less they have to do with WT the better.. i hate the fact that it divides WT
in the future, after 20+ years or so… you know what? people who have control over the club will be the ones who have no relation to balmain or magpies and slowly the whole notion of division will dissolve
it is gonna happen, like it or not.. it better happen now than later imo
campbo and leichhardt are both great stadiums but neither of them are big stadiums and less crowd means higher ticket prices... it's better to make SFS/allianz the home ground, less ticket prices and bigger crowds

It makes no sense to at this point. The club is still young in terms of the JV, and alot of the fans of both former entities still see that WT ties them to Wests and Balmain. Until we regularly sell out both CSS and LO, and are turning thousands away from games there we shouldn't be moving to one home ground, so it's a moot issue.

Having three home grounds isn't deterring on field performance, there's other significant factors behind that.

building a distinguish and separate identity does not happen overnight
we need to sort this crap out now and forever… it will then take years for people to recognise WT

Perfect. And get the capbelltown hot dogs up to leichardt standards. It's the little things, the 1%ers that make a great club.
