I'm sure everyone has seen some bizarre things on the footy field.
The maggies were playing the gold coast in the ellery hanley days.
The match was played in heavy rain and the ground was covered in water.
.Wests had scored an eight point try after Keith Colwell
had jumped on Wayne Simmons back after he had scored a try.
scores were pretty close and the chargers had forced a goal line dropout. It was pretty obvious by the state of the field that the dropout was going to be a challenge.
Graham Mckay took the dropout and of course the ball plugged and it didn't go the ten metres.Another way to lose a game.Peter Benson kicked the goal and it was a 12- 12 result.
I never understood why the referee didn't take a different spot for the kick to be taken from- like they do with casual water in golf.
Anyway, something that has stuck in my mind .Is there any provision in the rules for the ball to be moved?
