Blair and Anasta

Now I think I got it right with Bair blah blah…and unlike everyone else I have concerns with Braith Anasta.

I watched him a bit towards the end of the year and I do not know what we are going to do with him. He is not the great ball player everyone says, he is ok only. I would not call him an inspirational leader..he has a big mouth and knows how to [automatically edited] to the refs.

I am concerned that he is changing clubs at a late age , to a dysfunctional club at the moment. We, the supporters have no idea what position he will play..and if he, Anasta, thinks he does,he's got another thing coming.
I am concerned he will fall into the mire and will match up to his reputation, of being the most overrated player in the comp.

interesting.
the blair call, really was an easy call.
his form was poor when we signed him plus the fact his game was not suited to us .
lose payten,giibs and sign blair.
of course it wasn't going to work.

now anasta is a different ball park.
he actually has skills we need.
i've watched 2 roosters games this year,so i have no idea how he has looked.
but i do know he didn't play with benji or farah.
we have had trouble finding that bridge between the 2 and anasta could be that bridge.

i'm not so sure his negatives outweigh the positives to be honest.
i wouldn't say i'm excited but certainly intrigued to see how he is used.

Braith will be good for us. The gap between his best games and worst is small, we need that more than some flashy enigma.
Looking forward to his sweet cut-outs to Koro blistering down the sideline.

2013 will be a good year for us

I would like to as positive as others.

But, Anasta cannot play back row, for us I mean. We need what other teams are introducing. Young mobile BIG backrowers.., not an ageing part time back rower.

So that leaves somewhere in the halves. Benji has had an odd year. He has laid on most of our tries but some of his general play has been absolutely awful. I still think he need space , so he is the best 5/8 we have and that is where he should play.

That leaves half back for Braith..

Anasta will add an interesting dynamic to the team & I think much needed…a calm head..good defender...good kicking game...someone that can give benji, Lawrence the space they need to do their stuff and take some of the pressure of Robbie/ Benji for all the plays. Also , Can't underestimate the value of having a 7 that can actually tackle and doesn't have to be hidden in defence.

Blair on the other hand.. Just don't see where he will add value so am open to suggestions

Perhaps he excels at cutting up oranges or wielding the magic sponge?

Blair is half the player he was at Melbourne and most of the Tigers players were half what they were 2 seasons ago .Give Adam a different and tough coach and then we will see the real Adam Blair not the detuned Sheens version.

Interesting thoughts Snake.. What qualities/skills do you think he hasn't shown us yet?

Blair could be a different player under a coach who could instill some structure into the team. Let's hope Sheens moves on quickly and we can look to a new era under a new coaching staff.

Well one thing is for sure under a new coach all the players will improve and will be a force next year.

It doesn't always work out like that you know.

I watched Braith years ago playing at 5/8th and he was too big and slow, and from about then on he played lock.

I watched him play 5/8th a couple times this year and he seems to have his speed and agility back.

My question mark is on his defence as from what I've seen he hasn't had to do any, so I don't know if it will hold up.
